Jeff Simmermon Posts "Vomit Fist" Comedy Track

Comedian Jeff Simmermon has created an oratory carnival on his upcoming debut album of comedic tales, "And I Am Not Lying," due out June 9th via Comedy Dynamics.

Topics on the album include his band with piano-playing chickens (Royal Quiet Deluxe), slaughtering kangaroos in the Australian outback, cancer, furious empathy on the New York subway, dinner with the Reverend Al Sharpton, dating following a surprise divorce and even grindcore.

This week, new track "Vomit Fist" debuts, featuring Simmermon's comedic telling of hosting the familial grindcore band at his UCB show in NYC. Jeff discovers just what a lecture in hell might look like after a show with father/son grindcore trio Vomit Fist when the boys sneak back into the bar, in full gig makeup, before helping pops load their gear in the van.

"Vomit Fist is hands-down the most thrilling act I’ve ever had on the show," says Simmermon. "It’s really sweet to see them putting each other’s corpse makeup on before the show, and such a fun, family vibe mixed with brutal thrashing." More...

In the new clip, Didkovsky showcases how he combines both straight time and melodic drummer techniques while playing in odd meters. Leo Didkovsky uses Pearl Export drums for gigs, and practices with Roland V-Drums at home. He states:

“Currently in Vomit Fist, we’re moving toward more vicious and noise-oriented riffs that act more as textures, like in our tune ‘Under the Rind.’ We’re looking forward to writing and recording more material and hitting the road to support our new record Forgive but Avenge.”

Featuring raw, in-your-face sonics, "Forgive But Avenge" was recorded and engineered at Nik Chinboukas at Spin Studios (studio credits include Lamb of God, Testament and Gojira). The tracks rip through themes of rebirth, apocalyptic chaos, ecstatic dermal auto-excoriation, and transgressive ancient tantric poetry. Pick up your copy at this location. More...

Father/Son Grindcore Squad Posts Track Online

Think back - what did you do with your father when you were a teenager? Perhaps you went on fishing trips, learned how to change the oil in your first car, or even enjoyed a ballgame together from time to time?

Such is not the case for impressive 17-year-old drummer Leo “Lurkrot” Didkovsky, who proposed the idea of forming a blackened-grindcore band with his guitarist/composer father, Nick “Vürdoth” Didkovsky in 2013. With the later addition of fellow 18-year-old family friend and vocalist Malcolm “Skrag the Screecher” Hoyt, this connection birthed the ultra-high energy project Vomit Fist, hailing from the depths of New York City.

The trio’s recently released debut digital EP, "Forgive But Avenge," will be made available in hard copy CD format via independent release on October 28th, 2014. Take a listen to the track "Under The Rind" below, courtesy of Revolvermag.com. The EP was recorded and engineered by Nik Chinboukas at Spin Studios (studio credits include Lamb of God, Testament and Gojira).

Vomit Fist father figure Nick “Vürdoth” Didkovsky recalls his heavy metal connections harking back to Leo’s childhood: “My son Leo and I have shared a love for metal from the time he was very young. I recall him taking Judas Priest 'Painkiller' to school for show-and-tell when he was in kindergarten. Deep roots! We played a bunch of one-offs together while he was in grade school, cover tunes mostly, like ‘School’s Out’ for the fifth grade graduation ceremony, and later some Lamb of God, Black Sabbath, Kiss, etc. His drumming developed into something pretty sick through his experience at Tomato’s House of Rock. So one day, when the idea came about that he and I put a band together, I was really into it, not just because he’s my son, but because he’s such a killer musician."

The EP's track listing is as follows:

1. Forgive but Avenge
2. Under the Rind
3. Eat The Hand That Feeds You
4. Enter My Guts
5. Frogmen
6. Ass Hammer
7. Story
8. A Public Execution
9. In Your Skin / Born
10. The Sacred Slut
11. Broken
12. Sodom
13. Bloodfisher More...
