Fulgora Streaming "Meridian"

A name representing the female personification of lightning in Greek mythology, Fulgora is a shadowy grindcore/death collective featuring members of Pig Destroyer, Misery Index, and Agoraphobic Nosebleed. Together they concoct violent hymns of destruction fusing death/grind and hardcorish, vulturine vocal infiltrations.

This past July, the editors of MetalSucks handpicked five unsigned bands from an open application process to record with producer Will Putney at Converse Rubber Tracks in Brooklyn, New York. Fulgora ranked among the five, and some weeks later the band joined Philip H. Anselmo's Housecore Records for the release of the "Stratagem" full-length.

"It's an honor to be a part of the Housecore family," comments the band, "It's the perfect fit for us, as they are very artist-friendly, and music fans first and foremost. We look forward to working with Phil and the entire Housecore crew, and hope to see everyone on the road soon!"

Set for official unveiling this February, the seven-track "Stratagem" is a collection of limited vinyl singles and samples including the Converse Rubber Tracks recorded "Meridian," which can be heard below thanks to Metal Sucks. The full track listing is as follows:

Housecore Horror Film Festival Day 3

A good night’s sleep and mild weather helped me catch a second wind on the fifth consecutive day of metal concerts. I watched NWOBHM legends Satan at Beerland on Wednesday, the day before HHFF kick-off party. The sun’s rays dimmed just a little due to Superjoint Ritual backdrop and a breeze gave us some relief while catching the bands on the Midway stage. For me, today’s activities didn’t start there, though, it started at the Grindhouse tent located around the side of Emo’s. More...

Satyricon Drops Off Housecore Horror Film Festival

We regret to inform everyone that Norwegian black metal legends Satryicon will no longer be able to perform at this year's Housecore™ Horror Film Festival. The band explained via its official Facebook page:

"Dear U.S fans. We regret to inform that Satyricon will not perform at Knotfest in San Bernardino, CA and Horror Fest in Austin, TX in October 2014. The reasons for not being able to perform at these two festivals are both pragmatic ones and entirely different from each other.

"Satyricon will now shift its attention towards the writing of a new album, re-editing the footage from the 'Live at the Opera' live album/DVD and another project that will be announced at a later stage. It is important for the band that the U.S fans understand that you are far from forgotten and that the band look forward to come over for a full scale U.S tour as soon as it is possible. You deserve it." More...
