Stardust VI Details Announced
From February 2nd to February 5th, 2017, Stardust VI - Dark Nights of the Soul will take place in Brooklyn, NY at Saint Vitus Bar.
Although appearing on the surface to be a conventional music festival, Stardust VI - Dark Nights of the Soul is anything but "conventional." Presented by the Stardust NYC collective, this edition will not only feature music performances by the likes of Absu, Slagmaur, Aluk Todolo, Obliteration, Dispirit, Lluvia, Lycus, Blood Incantation, and Hail among others - 22 bands in all - but will also feature a special book presentation and lecture by acclaimed artist Metastazis.
For the past five years, Stardust NYC has endeavored to present an event for artists and art lovers. It is completely democratized from the bog-standard "copy/paste festival." There are no headliners nor openers; every artist is considered equally amazing and important, part of a unique fabric binding together great art.
"We started the Stardust Series five years ago with the genuine intention of creating an atypical platform that will help the underground music scene in its full diversity and splendor," the collective write. "As part of that mission, we want to deliver a high-quality curation meant to support true artistry and passion. We believe that actions always speak louder than words, and we continue on our path of celebrating unknown Greatness."
"More than anything, we envision Dark Nights Of The Soul to be a unique and genuine event of discovery," they continue, on the topic of the sixth installment. "We'd like to see people want to open new doors for themselves, to get out of their comfort zones and completely lose themselves in the Moment. To be utterly shaken from body to soul by something completely new is a blessing, and many times life-changing. This is the true live experience we aim for each and every time." More...
Shadow Woods Metal Fest Changes Location
The inaugural September installation of Shadow Woods Metal Fest, the new open-air camping metal fest, has moved slightly Southeast, from its initial placement in Southern Pennsylvania to White Hall in Harford County, Maryland.
Set to take place September 25th - 27th, 2015, the new location of Shadow Woods Metal Fest is similar to the previous site, with deep woods, cabins and tent camping fields, yet is slightly closer to both Baltimore and Philadelphia, making it even more accessible to East Coast metallers planning on attending the diverse three-day festival.
Since initial announcements, Menace Ruine dropped from the lineup and was replaced by Black Table, yet the remainder of the Shadow Woods Metal Fest lineup remains the same, including lead performances from Midnight, Falls of Rauros, Occultation, Velnias, Iron Man, Anagnorisis, The Flight of Sleipnir and Stone Breath, along with twenty-six additional acts. The fest is also likely to be the first live performance for the surviving members of Wormreich since the tragic vehicle crash in April.
There will be ZERO ticket sales at the gate for the festival -- advance presales to those 21 years of age and older is the only way into the fest, and is still BYOB. The lineup consists of: More...
Dreadlords Posts "Five To One" Video
In the steady campaign surrounding Dreadlords' "Death Angel" debut LP, released at the end of last year via Not Just Religious Music, the collective has issued a new video for its smoldering rendition of The Doors' "Five To One." Check it out below.
The classic original 1968 tune comes ripping back to live through the creepy, gritty Dreadlords style, rife with riotous angst in the band's ominous blues delivery, and meshing civil unrest film from the era of the original song with new footage.
Dreadlords has also been confirmed to take part in the inaugural Shadow Woods Metal Fest in rural Southern Pennsylvania in September. The three-day open-air camping and music festival will run from September 25th through 27th, and will see Dreadlords performing alongside the likes of Anagnorisis, Anicon, Dendritic Arbor, Hivelords, Immortal Bird, Iron Man, Menace Ruine, Midnight, Occultation, Psalm Zero, Unsacred, Velnias, Wormreich, Zud and dozens of other eclectic underground artists. Shadows Woods Metal Fest Lineup Revealed
The concept of the open air heavy metal music and camping fest, so popular in Europe, seems to be a rarity in America. The organizers of the Shadow Woods Metal Fest hope to change that with the inaugural edition of the festival happening September 25th - 27th, 2015 in Fannettsburg, Pennsylvania in the heart of the Appalachian Mountains.
Shadow Woods Metal Fest features lead performances from Midnight, Falls of Rauros, Occultation, Menace Ruine, Velnias, Iron Man, Anagnorisis, The Flight of Sleipnir and Stone Breath along with twenty-seven additional acts throughout the event.
The fest showcases underground black, doom, death, and noise and experimental metal bands on two alternating stages all day Friday and Saturday. Camping and workshops on topics such as runes, guitar maintenance, yoga and more will be offered and are included in the ticket price. Artists and record labels will be vending alongside several onsite food stands. The festival is BYOB and age restricted to 21+.
To keep the fest intimate, only 350 tickets will be sold, and the fest is already 1/3 sold out. Tickets are $92 (plus a 99 cent processing fee). A limited number of group cabins will also be available. The lineup is as follows: More...
The Dreadlords Cometh
The end-time message of Dreadlords' brooding occult blues has never been more apparent, as the outlaws release their newest piece of visual propaganda from debut LP, "Death Angel," which today sees its premiere through Bloody Disgusting (also available below).
The Southeastern Pennsylvania-based outfit continues to create possibly the darkest blues ever created, infusing black metal and occult rock elements into a monstrous concoction, with a riotous video out now for the "Death Angel" LP's gritty tune, "Dreadlords Cometh."
Directed by James P. Gannon, quick cuts of the band performing its craft have been edited into brutal uprising footage and an ominous storyline, of which the cult collectively offers, "The video is about Dreadlords being released to the population which causes riots throughout the globe due to our occult practices and music. We are being released by a secretive occult group to cause chaos, through/by our music." More...

Dreadlords To Release Debut Album
A cult deeply founded in the darker realms of humanity and the occult, Dreadlords will unveil an ominous debut LP later this year on Not Just Religious Music. The following press release was issued about the band:
"Containing members of Panther Modern and T.O.M.B., and hailing from different areas in the Pennsylvania and Maryland area, the members of Dreadlords boast a cruel, snarling brew of organic traditional blues and crushingly dark Americana. Banjos, chimes, percussive elements and amplified acoustic instrumentation, intermittently infused with the slight presence of psychedelic black metal and noise experimentation, with a permeating and harrowing low-end vocal crooning congregate in an organic, brutally raw, intoxicating demonic delivery.
"Following their cult demo release last year and waves of live performances throughout the eastern half of the US, including an East Coast tour with King Dude, the members of Dreadlords culminated on the final day of 2013, entering Satan's Palace in rainy Cherry Hill, New Jersey in order to concoct a new musical ritual to take your soul. The band will release the LP this Harvest Season via Not Religious Music, the label forged nearly one year ago by occult rock purveyor, King Dude and home to several releases by King Dude including a split with Chelsea Wolfe."
Further details on this maiden full-length will be proclaimed in the sweltering Summer ahead as it is finalized for public intake. You can also see the band live:
