Wulfhook Parts With Vocalist

Wulfhook just issued the following announcement online about parting ways with vocalist Jeff Schlinz:

"Happy new year everyone. We've been quiet for a minute and unfortunately our first news of 2017 will be a bummer. Jeff Schlinz has decided to part ways with Wulfhook. We will not go into detail as to why. If he'd like to address it he can but please respect his privacy otherwise. We wish him the absolute best with his future endevours and pursuits beyond the band. He will always be our brother and he will be missed.

"That being said, we are looking for a new singer. Anyone interested in trying out can message the band or any of the members directly. We absolutely do not expect anyone to sound like a Jeff Schlinz clone, he was a freak of nature vocally (we are very aware). The best thing you can do is be yourself, bring your own voice and attitude to the table.

"We are looking for someone who is motivated and hard working. We have a lot of plans toward the future and you'll be hearing much more from us in the weeks and months to come. In the meantime here is the last recording we did with Sling and the only recorded material currently featuring Mike and Chris. We thank you all for your continued support of Wulfhook!" More...

Wulfhook Releasing "The Impaler"

Detroit's Wulfhook is joining the Divebomb Records roster and will see the release of debut album, "The Impaler," on July 17th, 2015. Dimebomb comments:

"Wulfhook, having formed in 2009, is a five piece American heavy metal band from Detroit, Michigan. They have impressively self-financed three remarkable demos including 2012’s stellar 'Sacrifice,' which are the recordings that lead to their deal with Divebomb Records.

"Their debut album, 'The Impaler,' is a culmination of years of hard work and overcoming unforeseen adversities along the way. The end result, which was mixed by Jamie King at his Basement Studios, is nothing short of magnificent. 'The Impaler,' simply put, is an unrelenting sonic attack that reveals a band that is completely unaffected by what’s popular or what other musicians are doing and is zeroed in on exactly what will make Wulfhook stand out in the over-crowded underground scene. No tongue in cheek retro throwback, just straight up heavy metal."

1. The Impaler
2. Brutal Nightmare
3. Through The Darkness
4. Bridge Burner
5. Samara’s Well
6. Eternal
7. Sacrifice
8. Devil’s Harlot
9. Tormentor

Wulfhook Issues Lineup Update

Detroit heavy metal band Wulfhook has checked in with the following update about lineup changes and working on new material:

"It's been entirely to long since we've updated everyone on whats going on with Wulfhook. There's a lot to share so I'm gonna be pretty matter of fact about everything. We are going through a line up change, and currently looking for a new bassist and 2nd guitarist.

"Barry hadn't been satisfied playing bass which is understandable as his passion is guitar and he's a great player, which led to him bowing out respectfully. Duke while a very talented guitarist and performer put us in an uncomfortable position, and left us having to make the hard decision to continue without him. While this news is unfortunate, These guys will always be our brothers in arms and we wish them nothing but the best. For the time being we have friends who are gonna help us out filling in for live shows.

"The original plan was to release a proper full-length in 2013. We had everything in the works from the studio, producer, album art, talked with labels, started working on pre-production demos of newer songs. Things were on the up and up, but for one reason or the other it kept getting pushed back more and more. Something like the old adage 2 steps forward 3 steps back. So 2013 had not turned out to be quite the year we planned for the band to say the least, and 2014 has had an even rockier start. Albeit we had some phenomenal shows, with unbelievable turn outs playing with our brothers in Battlecross and Manic Outburst we still had no forward movement on our full length. With all that being said this past Monday marked 2 years since we released the 'Sacrifice' demo. More...
