Vile Regression Offering "Empires" For Download

Irish tech metal band Vile Regression is offering the "Empires" release online for streaming and free digital download. Pick up your copy of the album over at this location. Guitarist Brian Brady comments:

"We've been blown away by the positive feedback we have received from the online metal community and printed metal press for 'Empires.' The reviews have been incredibly positive and at this stage we want as many people to hear the record as possible!

"On top of this, the EP has already become available to download on various blogs and torrent sites, so rather than metal fans downloading a poor quality version, we want them to be able to download a full quality release of 'Empires,' along with the artwork, lyrics and be able to share the download link with their friends.

"We hope people will enjoy listening to it as much as we did making it and look forward to seeing many of you on the road in 2015. Happy Christmas from Vile Regression!" More...

Today the band releases a new playthrough video for "Empires" closing track "The Empyrean Divide," which can be seen below. Guitarist Baz Christie comments:

"We decided on this track because we feel it showcases a lot of the technical instrumentation present on the record. It was the last song we wrote before entering the studio and we feel that technically and lyrically it's a good representation of what people can expect from Vile Regression in the future."

The album's track listing is as follows:

2. Raze The Complexity

Vile Regression Reveals Album Artwork

Having recently announced details for forthcoming new record "Empires," the Irish extreme metallers have today revealed the album's artwork, created by Bartek Siegieda (aka Splin) from Poland. The band comments:

"Bartek really took time to understand our record and really brought an interesting concept to graphically represent it. The record is very much about not being a slave to the fragility of prevailing systems and being free to be your own person.

"Splin envisioned a similar fragile ecoystem, a society and empire of clay golems. Born from clay they are desiccating and crumbling. The servant golems have no access to water for themselves, so in place of broken elbows / knees / necks they have rags and wires barely keeping them together. Without water their mouths dry out and their voice of discontent is silenced. The exception is the queen, who is in charge of water.

"She has servants that regularly change wet bandages enveloping her like a mummy, with an elaborate mist system to maintain moisture. Beautiful skin and the ability to speak however doesn't come without a price - she can't move from her protective wet clay, so she remains in the red chamber, distant from the crumbling empire outside. All water is entirely assigned to the production of fresh clay, from which large "pools" of new servants are formed to serve her. In a way, the queen is just as enslaved as her servants and rely on them to keep her alive.

“Bartek realised all of this with an elaborate bandage-changing ceremony depicting a society in decline and the double standards that exist.” More...

Vile Regression To Release "Empires"

Formed from the ashes of Irish extreme metal outfit Vistor Q, Vile Regression hit the scene in 2010 and subsequently released debut record "The Pattern Evolves" in 2011 via Casket Music.

Vile Regression went on from the release to share stages with prolific heavyweights such as Dyscarnate, Fleshgod Apocalypse and Unearth. 2013 saw the band head back to the studio to record a new installment titled "Empires."

Today details on "Empires" have been announced. The track listing will be as follows:

1. Tides
2. Raze The Complexity
3. Dream Of The Red Chamber
4. Thought Replication
5. The Abstract
6. Down To A Sunless Sea
7. The Empyrean Divide

"Empires" will be released independently on July 21st, 2014. The band also comments on the coming release:

“We feel, ‘Empires’ is a very powerful word, invoking strength and confidence. The title came from the overarching theme within the lyrics, that being positivity and empowerment in ones life. While 'The Pattern Evolves' dealt with very specific themes of corruption and governments, ‘Empires’ is much more positive. Lyrically the songs deal with different aspects of human emotions such as reaching your potential in life and being the master of your own empire. Songs such as ‘Raze The Complexity’ and ‘The Abstract’ are basically about being confident in yourself and purging the toxic and harmful elements around you."
