Sweden's Within Y has checked in with the following new recording update:
"Yesterday night Jonas managed to record his last tracks, and the results were satisfying to say the least. The guitars are all done since a couple of days back. We all think that the overall sound so far is really great and that it has exceeded our expectations that we had while entering the studio. We've had some talented people over to help us with all the preparations, which is reflected in the so far unmixed tracks. It sounds amazing!
"Andreas is currently in Denmark together with the rest of the Amaranthe-crew, taking care of some serious business. But as soon as he is back we'll initiate the preparations needed for recording the vocal tracks. Check back soon as the 2nd studio report will be up any day now!"
Within Y has issued the following studio update:
"That's right! The weekend has been good to us. Mikael (who normally is a very stiff and boring guy) has been really energetic and playing his guitar almost like it was a banjo."
"In consequence to that, all 11 tracks are recorded and the turn has come to Niknam, who spent yesterday night recording his first 5 tracks. Accordingly, our table of songs (or as we say in Swedish, bullrunk) looks like this at the moment. And this is how our guitar speakers look like."
"Last, and also least relevant in this context, Jonas would like to spread some word of advise to all guys out there: Don't just look at the pictures in a cookbook. Copy the recipe (by hand if you are technically handiclapped like Jonas) and cook it for your partner."

Sweden's Within Y has posted the first in a series of studio video reports online, which can be viewed here. The band also commented on the recording process:
"Erik 'Bönan' Hagström, a.k.a. The Machine Gun, has been delivering some serious punishment to his space ship drum kit the last two days, and somehow managed to record all 11 tracks. So... with the drums all recorded we've moved on to setting up our guitar rig and to record the first couple of guitar tracks. Mikael is doing quite well, in spite of the fact that the metronome sometimes counts to 5, and not to 4 as he is used to (he is a routine-like kind of guy in many ways). That's all for today! Also, make sure to have a look at our studio report (is posted separately)!"

So we started to record a little of what we've come up with so far. And why not take the opportunity to let you guys know that we´re still alive. Anyways, we bring you 'The Storm,' a very early stage in our pre-recordings, of our yet untitled fourth album. Feel free to share your thoughts with us!"

Sweden's Cipher System has announced the addition of guitar player Andreas Allenmark (Anata) to their line-up. The band comments:
"We would like tho start this news with a big 'thank you' to everyone who were interested in this position. A great amount of people from the whole world (at least all continents) has sent in questions and wanted to be a part. Thanks for even caring about our shitty little meaningless band. Now, what we wanted was to have a guy that has been in the game for a while, and has his shit together musically. Also, we wanted him to live close so we can meet up without any problems. [Andreas] fits in this description perfectly, as he has been touring a lot with Anata, recording a couple of albums and lives really close by. We are more than happy to welcome him and his amazing guitar skills to the band."
