Every Hour Kills Releases New Video

Modern melodic metal band Every Hour Kills just released the "Almost Human" music video taken from an upcoming self-titled EP due out September 18.

The video, which was directed by Doug Cook, is part of an online voting competition where the winning videos receive one of two $30,000 grants to produce a music video + documentary, receive training and mentorship opportunities, and distribution on TELUS Optik TV On Demand. You can vote for "Almost Human" over here.

Sacha Laskow from Every Hour Kills had this to say: "The song is about addictions, vices and demons. Everybody has them in some form. Sometimes when you deal with these trials you feel isolated and alone, like an alien among your own kind. Like you're not quite human...

"The video concept illustrates this by showing the band in a cold, isolated environment being filmed only by futuristic robotic security cameras. They are forced to perform and give every ounce of energy they have to even have a chance of being set free..." More...

Every Hour Kills Streams New Single

There's a new sound exploding out of Calgary, AB's rising metal scene with Every Hour Kills - a new modern melodic metal band featuring ex-Divinity guitarist Sacha Laskow, bassist Brent Stutsky (Breach of Trust), drummer Rob Shawcross (ex- Out Of Your Mouth), and vocalist Jerrod Maxwell-Lyster (Walk As Chaos, Out of Your Mouth, Autobody).

Over the last two years, the band has been busy in the lab working on recording new songs to be unleashed to the masses. Last year saw the band's first single "Deliver Us" exposed to the world and set the path for next release "Chosen," produced by Joey Sturgis (Asking Alexandria, Emmure, Of Mice & Men, We Can As Romans). Give the song a listen below.

Guitarist Sacha Laskow comments: "It was an awesome experience working with an outside producer this time, especially one as talented as Joey. Usually we've done everything ourselves, so it was really interesting getting an outside perspective from someone we respect. We are all beyond stoked with the results; Joey definitely added some of his magic to our vision and took the song up to a higher level. Lyrically the song is basically about rising up in the face of adversity, struggling to make our goals and dreams a reality amidst the chaos of the world and other people trying to drag us down. We are all 'Chosen' for something, to take our own path and create our own lives." More...
