Into Eternity Comment on Dream Theater Tour
Canadian progressive death outfit INTO ETERNITY has been confirmed for a month-long summer U.S. tour alongside the legendary DREAM THEATER. The trek, which kicks off in late July, is the opportunity the group has been waiting for since their inception, and a perfect chance to reach a new, open-minded audience that has yet to bear witness to their perfect blend of technicality, memorable songwriting and traditional heavy metal.
Commented Tim Roth (guitars, vocals): "I still can't believe I'm going to be saying this, but we are blown away to be going on tour with DREAM THEATER! There would be no INTO ETERNITY, without DT's influence on our music. The progressive sound that we have comes directly from them. There is no question that they are one of our favorite bands of all time!
"A huge thanks to Mike Portnoy for going to bat and getting us on this tour. It will be interesting to leave the clubs for one tour and get back into large venues again. We hope that the loyal DT fan base will be cool to us as a support act. We also can't wait to meet the REDEMPTION guys. FATES WARNING was also an influence on our sound." More...

For the dates where I am unable to make it, we will be fortunate to have the talents of Sean Entrikin of PRYMARY taking my place. The rest of the band will be there at all dates."

Progpower USA Sold Out
The organizers of the ProgPower USA festival have announced a surprise headline set for this year's sold-out edition of the internationally renowned festival. Saturday night (October 6) will now finish with an all-star cover set featuring vocalists from both the showcase and the festival. Each vocalist will be given the opportunity to perform 1-2 cover songs of their choice with the music being provided by the members of PAGAN'S MIND. Additional guests will join them throughout the set.
"The fans have made this festival a success and it's time to give something back to them," said ProgPower USA promoter Glenn Harveston. "I wanted to announce this after the sell-out as a reward instead of in advance as an incentive. It's going to be one hell of a party on stage."
As a result of the additional performance, there has been a major change in the schedule and door times. "I had to shake things up quite a bit to make this work," Harveston explained. "However, the fans can relax knowing that not one band will have a single minute cut from their previously announced set lengths."
The new schedule and door times can be found at the festival web site. More...
