Nightrage Stares Into Infinity
Greek/Swedish melodic death metal band Nightrage has teamed up with Revolver Magazine to launch a music video for the new track "Stare into Infinity." Check it out below.
The song comes from the band's upcoming sixth studio album, "The Puritan," set to release on April 24th through Despotz Records.
"'Stare into Infinity' is one of my favorite songs on our new album The Puritan," guitarist Marios Iliopoulos told Revolver. "It has all those elements that are Nightrage - heavy riffs, emotional melodies and brutal vocal hooks. The whole arrangement of the song is very simplistic and in your face. The verses are very thrashy with straightforward riffs and pounding drums, creating that feeling of power and metal mayhem. The chorus is where the song really lifts up with those signature Nightrage melodic guitars and big '80s metal riffs played with a thrashy and more modern approach. And Ronnie´s vocals, singing with such a great passion and old school melodic death metal vibes, makes for a really cool contrast on that part.
"Lyrically, it´s a song that has to do with leading you out of dark times, reaching the light at the end of the tunnel and leaving everything that's troubling you behind - searching to find your inner self.
"The production and sound that Daniel Bergstrand and George Neranzis did for the song made all the difference in the world; they really gave the song the needed power and loudness to create such a strong and beautifully loud brutal/melodic sound."

Pit Stories: The Mosh Pit Face Off
Tuesday's not just for killer new metal releases, its also when we have musicians from across the world share their favorite Pit Stories from live shows.
This week none other than guitarist Marios Iliopoulos from the Greek melodic death metal outfit Nightrage shared this tale from a Slipknot pit:
As far as I remember the craziest mosh pit that I have seen was at a Slipknot concert in Norway where the singer had to divide the crowd on 2 parts and get them ready to face each other. What comes next was the most insane and brutal, almost brawl mosh pit, that I have experienced to this day. People seemed of course to enjoy it, but at the same time, the sheer aggression of it was amazing. One of the things that always remind us of the power of metal music and the great fun that it can be.
Need a new Nightrage fix in your life? The band's upcoming full-length album "The Puritan" will drop via Despotz Records on April 24th, 2015 and an advance track from the release can be heard below. More...

Metalunderground.com Official Podcast, Episode 26
This week on the Metalunderground.com Official Podcast, co-host Kevin Perez (n0thinghead) reintroduces our ticket giveaway for Revolution Live in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
After the success of our DevilDriver giveaway in June, we’re inviting South Florida residents (or any able/willing to attend) to see The Black Dahlia Murder, Suicide Silence, Chelsea Grin, and Alterbeast on Monday, October 13th. If interested, email podcast@metalunderground.com with subject heading “Black Dahlia Murder,” and submit your full name matching your ID.
Even if you can’t make it, lend us a hand and share our giveaway far and wide on social media; the more popular it gets, the more we can spread this experiment nationwide and to a venue near you.
Next, co-host Mike Smith (OverkillExposure) weighs in with a rather prickly and pessimistic insight on the longterm effects of Internet culture on the music/metal scene, specifically the downsides (and there are always downsides).
The downloading issue has been talked to death, but Mike sees some mass psychological implications at work here as well, and they do not bode well for the future. His hypothesis: due to the increased platform the Web offers to egoistic, insecure, and often talent-starved amateurs, there will never again emerge a tremendously popular, universally loved rock ’n’ roll band, much less a metal band. Listen in to hear his full thoughts on the matter.
Finally, Kevin offers a detailed review of the new self-titled album from Darkest Hour, which boasts a new rhythm section and a potentially divisive new direction in style - although Kevin puts up a passionate and justified defense on the album’s behalf. Do you agree?
Listen in here, subscribe via iTunes and RSS, offer feedback if you’re so inclined, and enjoy!
