A good night’s sleep and mild weather helped me catch a second wind on the fifth consecutive day of metal concerts. I watched NWOBHM legends Satan at Beerland on Wednesday, the day before HHFF kick-off party. The sun’s rays dimmed just a little due to Superjoint Ritual backdrop and a breeze gave us some relief while catching the bands on the Midway stage. For me, today’s activities didn’t start there, though, it started at the Grindhouse tent located around the side of Emo’s. More...

We regret to inform everyone that Norwegian black metal legends Satryicon will no longer be able to perform at this year's Housecore™ Horror Film Festival. The band explained via its official Facebook page:
"Dear U.S fans. We regret to inform that Satyricon will not perform at Knotfest in San Bernardino, CA and Horror Fest in Austin, TX in October 2014. The reasons for not being able to perform at these two festivals are both pragmatic ones and entirely different from each other.
"Satyricon will now shift its attention towards the writing of a new album, re-editing the footage from the 'Live at the Opera' live album/DVD and another project that will be announced at a later stage. It is important for the band that the U.S fans understand that you are far from forgotten and that the band look forward to come over for a full scale U.S tour as soon as it is possible. You deserve it." More...

Following the ill-conceived hoax from Upon A Burning Body claiming the band's front man had gone missing, Corrections House has now jumped on the same bandwagon.
According to a press release, the Corrections House minister of propaganda Seward Fairbury has turned up missing from his place of residence this week in California after an apparently violent confrontation within his home.
Corrections House member Scott Kelly said, "The last time I had any contact with Seward was ten weeks ago; it's not uncommon to not see him for weeks at a time, but he always keeps us in the loop with a postcard or a phone call about once a month. We went by his trailer and it was completely trashed; it looked like there had been a serious disturbance. If you've ever met Seward, you know he's mean as fuck and he isn't gonna go anywhere he doesn't want too. We're reaching out through our connections and through Seward's extensive family and trying to figure out what is going on."
Corrections House will soldier on "without" Fairbury, and continue to do work. The band is releasing a live record due out this Fall entitled "Writing History In Advance" through War Crime Recordings, will continue to work on a next full-length due out in early 2015, and will appear at the Roskilde Festival in Copenhagen, Denmark this Friday, July 4th.
This evening, Corrections House will take Seattle beginning a brief run of live takeovers to ring in the New Year.
Set to commence at The Highline, the band -- Mike IX Williams (Eyehategod), Scott Kelly (Neurosis), Bruce Lamont (Yakuza), Sanford Parker (Minsk) and minister of propaganda, Seward Fairbury -- will march on through the weekend leveling Portland, Los Angeles, San Diego, and San Francisco.

Following a run of live takeovers last summer supporting Philip H. Anselmo And The Illegals, Author & Punisher sound manipulator Tristan Shone is pleased to pack up his steel and unite with Anselmo and company for another mutinous round of sonic abrasions.
Just in time to ring in the New Year, the second leg of the Technicians Of Distortion Tour will commence on January 10th in Houston, Texas and head westward, trampling through over a dozen cities with additional support provided by Hymns.
Comments Shone: "West Coast: I will be unveiling a new set of electromechanical vocal manipulation masks and devices, never before used during a tour as well as some new and old tracks."
As a precursor to the Technicians Of Distortion trek, Author & Punisher will join the audio antagonists in Corrections House for two special performances in Los Angeles and San Diego. See confirmed live actions below. More...

Corrections House - the collective musical extractions of Mike IX Williams (Eyehategod), Scott Kelly (Neurosis), Bruce Lamont (Yakuza), Sanford Parker (Minsk) and their minister of propaganda, Seward Fairbury - is pleased to announce a European takeover this December.
The rituals will commence on December 3rd in Hamburg, Germany and sully more than a dozen European metropolises before coming to a close December 21st in Wroclaw, Poland.
Fairbury made the following statement on the adventures: "There is no possible way to capture and enslave what has already been freed from within. The destruction that is given is also forgiven and so begets the path that we all have chosen. Corrections House is on this path, the one and same path as those who have walked, crawled and bled before them. Europe, you are on this path. Corrections House will see you in December of 2013. And so it begins."
Additionaly, Corrections House will preach the end-time message atop the main stage of the 013 venue in Tilburg, at Roadburn 2014. See the band live: More...

Today the musical miscreants at Pitchfork offer up the first sampling of "Last City Zero," the forthcoming debut full-length from recent Neurot Recordings signees, Corrections House. Make a choice: "Serve or Survive" at this location.
The following press release was also issued about the band and coming album:
"A shadowy legion of lost souls, fused together by the impulsive forces of nature and altered states of consciousness, Corrections House is the maniacal creation of Mike IX Williams (Eyehategod), Scott Kelly (Neurosis), Bruce Lamont (Yakuza), Sanford Parker (Minsk) and their minister of propaganda, Seward Fairbury.
"Produced by Parker at Electrical Audio, Soma Studios, 60 Psycho Hum and Nodferatu’s Lair, Last City Zero offers up eight psychologically alarming hymns that span well beyond the traditional confines of sound. At once cold, mechanical, prosaic and pungent, Last City Zero is a full body experience rather than a casual listen."
Comments Fairbury of the new song: "How can the choice be any clearer? The less Serving you do, the more chance you have to Survive. Serving is rarely a positive experience and Surviving, although a victory of sorts, is truly the most basic form of existence. Either way, you’re fucked." More...

In a recent live review Invisible Oranges crowns the band “unique and devastating,” Dig Boston relays: “I’m engulfed in a wall of sound and have no idea what to call this music.
