Lexington, KY's Beyond the Shore, which recently returned from The Blackest Hearts Tour with Bermuda, is pleased to announce Jonathon Pugh as the group's new full-time drummer.
Jonathan joined Beyond the Shore on the road for The Blackest Hearts Tour where he delivered a commanding performance at each stop of the 18 date tour. The 22-year-old drummer from Shelby, NC previously played for the band Lions of Winter.
The band comments: "All of us in Beyond the Shore are very excited to announce that we've brought in Jonathon Pugh to be our new full-time drummer. We all met him in North Carolina while recording our current release Ghostwatcher and had stayed in touch since. Here we are almost later and we couldn't be happier to have him sitting behind the kit for us. Jonathan's a very talented drummer, but more importantly he fits well with us as dudes and that's invaluable when making music and touring together." More...

In addition to the track samples, fans can read the concepts behind each song, written by vocalist Andrew Loucks. Check out the clip below, or read the descriptions of each track at Stereokiller.com here.
"Ghostwatcher" will be released on April 2nd, 2013 through Metal Blade Records. Loucks describes the concept behind the album title:
"Ghostwatcher refers to the view you have on your dreams. While asleep, dreaming is usually a hazy memory at best. Few can actually go into detail with their dreams and dealing with the lucidity of them is another topic entirely! But the 'ghostwatcher' is your point of view on your dreams. As you may recall, when you see yourself in a dream, it's always from another perspective, or 'ghostwatcher' as I call it. The album art shows a ghostwatcher and also the triangle with an eye in the middle refers to the state on unrest most of our world is in, not only in our dreams but also the differing forms of reality." Guitarist and found member Matt Fox reflects on the band's year thus far: "2013, what a year… Thus far, we've shared new music with our friends and supporters who encourage us and keep us alive. We were fortunate enough to have just returned from the Soundwave festival in Australia where we made new friends, and saw the bands whose albums are the primary reasons we play the music we do (Thank you Master Of Puppets, Reign In Blood, Among The Living, and Blood, Sweat, And No Tears).
"We soon leave for Europe with Propagandhi, another one of our favorite bands, and what's more… in just two days we share the stage with some of the best friends we have ever made in our years of touring, Thy Will Be Done. Joining us on this jaunt are our soon to be friends, Altars, and Beyond The Shore. This is a lot of love and appreciation for a band of self-proclaimed pure misanthropists constantly talking about their 'Profound Hatred Of Man.' Who knew…
"We're happy to contradict ourselves in this fashion. Come share the love." More...

Relentlessly booking shows, touring and balancing school at the same time, Beyond the Shore had the privilege of sharing the stage with acts such as Born Of Osiris, Shai Hulud, MyChildren MyBride, Of Machines, After The Burial and many more.
The band's first release, "The Arctic Front" EP (2009), was produced by Kelly Cairns and recorded at Lambesis Studios (As I Lay Dying, War Of Ages, Austrian Death Machine, Impending Doom) in San Marcos, California. Beyond the Shore has released a new lyric video for the song "Dreamkiller," which comes off the "Ghostwatcher" album and can be viewed below. The band also issued the following statement about its sound and lyrical content:
"Among the thousands of metal/hardcore bands flooding the scene, its rare to find a band with a positive message and unique music. With lyrics depicting both spiritual as well as heart-felt messages, this band has been captivating their audience and taking the stage by storm. Beyond the Shore is a mix of metal and hardcore, which results in a metal-core band ready to destroy when they take the stage. From hammering melodic riffs followed by explosive breakdowns, machine gun sounding drums and such brutal vocals comes a band of close friends that are blessed to do what they love so passionately."
