Today, Decibel Magazine celebrates the soul-crushing split offering from two of the most volatile volume peddlers of the U.K. underground doom/sludge/noise community: Bastard Of The Skies and Grimpen Mire.
Released via Manchester-based Future Noise Recordings, the seven-track split offers up new frothy psalms of creeping dread from both acts, all recorded by Bastard Of The Skies guitarist/vocalist Matt Richardson at his own Full Stack Studio and mastered by James Plotkin (OLD, Khanate, Khlyst).

The ground will shake as Future Noise bring two rising titans of the U.K. underground together: Blackburn's noisiest sludge merchants Bastard Of The Skies and Birmingham's purveyors of filthy doom Grimpen Mire go head-to-head on a limited split 12" featuring new material from both bands.
All seven songs were recorded by Bastard Of The Skies guitarist/vocalist Matt Richardson at his own Full Stack Studio. Tto further reinforce the massive weight of both bands, master of sonic grimness James Plotkin (OLD, Khanate, Khlyst) was roped in for the mastering job. The limited 12" is adorned by Michael Cowell's deeply evocative artwork and the track listing is as follows:

Birmingham sludge band Grimpen Mire has released its debut album "A Plague Upon Your Houses" on At War With False Noise records, and is streaming all five tracks on it over on Bandcamp. On that same page you can listen to the five-song 2008 demo as well. Grimpen Mire will be appearing on Saturday, September 8th at Scruffy Murphy's in Birmingham along with Conan, Wizard's Beard, Black Magician and a few other bands.
