Castle Releases New Music Video

West Coast occult act Castle is pleased to unveil the official new music video for “Flash Of The Pentagram.” The tune comes by way of the band’s recently issued "Welcome To The Graveyard" full-length and can be viewed in the player below.

Elaborates guitarist Mat Davis, “Our director for ‘Flash Of The Pentagram,’ Brian J. Davis (who also directed Castle's ‘Evil Ways’), mentioned he didn’t think anyone had ever captured what it’s like to watch Castle live, so his idea was to use the gig flyer as a the kind of perfect medium to do that. He filmed us in a studio and printed the frames out on a cheap photocopier. Then he re-photographed the photocopies on an animation table over a month. We think the result is close to Castle live: intense, raw, and trance-like.”

Castle Streams Full Album

Castle's entire newly released album "Welcome To The Graveyard" is now online for streaming - check it out below.

Reflects guitarist Mat Davis: "We're extremely proud to finally stream 'Welcome To The Graveyard.' We set out on a left hand path from the beginning with this beast of an album, right up until the final nails were put in its coffin. We looked to make this album work as a whole, with a stripped down rock element that hearkened back to our debut In Witch Order and infusing that with bursts of orchestrated melody.

" It's our favorite record to date because it combines all the different elements of Castle and lets them shine equally; epic heavy metal, doom, '70s rock, and [bassist/vocalist] Liz [Blackwell]'s vocals are more soulfully evil than ever before which adds to the haunted ride." More...

Directed by Jaan Silmberg of Pistoltrixx, "Hammer And The Cross" was shot north of Toronto, Ontario while the band was between recording and mixing sessions for "Welcome To The Graveyard" this past winter.

"The song 'Hammer And The Cross' commands a lot of space and we wanted to find a location to match its starkness," elaborates vocalist Elizabeth Blackwell of the clip. "We filmed the video at an old, abandoned dairy farm north of Toronto in the middle of February in Canada. The cold, swirling imagery is a perfect complement to the hypnotic doomy sounds of the song. It was a successful collaboration with our director and a lot of fun to make." More...
