Elysian Splits With Vocalist

Melbourne act Elysian has issued the following announcement about parting ways with the band's vocalist:

"Elysian regret to announce that our vocalist and best friend Ben Garner has decided to part ways with Elysian. Ben has been with us from the start and we will miss him like a brother. We have always viewed him as an inspiration and one of Australia's finest metal vocalists. This was in no way a bitter split and we still have plans to move forward. Ben will be playing his last show with us this Saturday night in Canberra at Assidian's 2nd b'day celebration.

Ben also had this to say: "I am sad to say that i am leaving Elysian, but it is for quite a simple reason, I have another dream that I want to accomplish. Elysian is the greatest band and musical experience that I have ever had the pleasure of being a part of. I for one am really excited to hear what they come up with in the future and I wish them and all the bands I have shared the stage with in my time the best of luck."

The band released new album "Wires of Creation" back in March of 2012, and the full album is available for streaming at this location. For more info on Elysian, head over to the band's official Facebook profile.

Elysian Streaming Entire Debut Album

Melbourne based melodic deathers Elysian are streaming their debut album, "Wires of Creation," online today via metal website No Clean Singing. The album is set for release worldwide on Monday, March 26th. Check out the full album at this location.

The group is keen to not be lumped in as just another melodic death metal band, as guitarist Gabe Hutchinson explains: “Our main goal was to create a dynamic experience from start to finish whilst maintaining heavy songs. Overall it's a really heavy melodic death album but at times soars into things like an instrumental Pink Floyd-esque song with an electronic feel or a intricate percussive section. As a band, we grew up listening to music that incorporated acoustic ballads with blazing shred songs all in the one album, and it wasn't called progressive; it was called a good album. Some bands aim to have their songs sound disjointed by dramatically switching between genres; that’s not what we have done, the whole album flows, it attacks and it releases, its aggressive but gives you time to breath and take it in.”

The track listing is as follows:

1) Mans Design
2) Sigma
3) Climb from Fear
4) Eternal Breath
5) Sense Offender
6) The Gate
7) Play the Hand
8) Calming the Storm (instrumental)
9) Conquest
10) Machine
11) A Cry from Helplessness
I. Remorse
II. The choice
III. The Fall More...

Overall it's a really heavy melodic death album but at times soars into things like an instrumental Pink Floyd-esque song with an electronic feel or a intricate percussive section.
