Onslaught Tour Postponed Due To Poor Management
Greek thrashers SUICIDAL ANGELS have issued the following update:
"Unfortunately, due to some management problems that occured, the Horns Up tour had to be postponed for a few weeks. We’d really like to apologize to all our friends / fans that intended to come to the concerts, especially those that their country won’t be included in the new tour schedule. We promise to do our best to visit your country in the near future! The tour booking is now handled by the Romanian agency Metal Masters, and hopefully the rescheduled dates will be announced very soon."
The official ONSLAUGHT announcement about that issue:
"Unfortunately due to poor management and organization from the persons involved in the booking of the ’Horns Up’ tour, we have decided to postpone the majority of the dates for a few weeks. The entire logistic plan was a total mess, this included no flights being booked only two days before the tour was due to start , Onslaught also did not receive any guarantees that some of the shows would happen and unfortunately had no confidence that this tour, as it stood, would have seen it through to the end. The new rescheduled dates will be booked by Metal Masters Romania, and the new tour announced very shortly with hopefully no delay longer than three to four weeks of the original shows."
Onslaught's European Tour Cancelled?
According to the Italian concert promotion agency Black Dahlia, the previously announced European tour featuring reactivated British thrashers ONSLAUGHT, Sweden's CARNAL FORGE and Greece's SUICIDAL ANGELS has been cancelled.
The trek was scheduled to kick off on March 31 in Romania.
ONSLAUGHT recently confirmed the departure of guitarist Alan Jordan. A replacement axeman has already been recruited in the shape of "awesome new shredder" Andy Rosser-Davies.
ONSLAUGHT's new album, "Killing Peace", was released in March 2007 via Candlelight Records. The CD was recorded at Backstage studio in Derbyshire, England with producer Andy Sneap (MEGADETH, MACHINE HEAD, ARCH ENEMY, NEVERMORE).
Metal Mind Productions released ONSLAUGHT's "Live Polish Assault" DVD in a special DVD+CD limited swing case edition on March 3 in Europe (May 13 in the U.S. via MVD).
Carnal Forge Replaces Two Members
Swedish metal band Carnal Forge has announced the departure of guitarist Jari Kuusisto in addition to recently replaced vocalist Jens C. Mortensen. According to the group, "We are sorry not to have the guys on board anymore, and we wish them all the best for the future. We want to thank them for all their work and efforts in the band and all the crazy times we've shared through the years."
Kuusisto has issued the following statement:
"It's with great sadness I must inform you all that I have decided to leave CF. I just feel that my time in CF has come to an end, and I really haven't anything more to offer to the band. It’s been great working with the band over these 10 years and I wish the guys the best of luck in the future (Because they deserve it). For those of you that wonder. I will continue with my music carrier but with my other band This Human Design. So hopefully I will see you all again in a near future. Thank you all for the endless support. See you soon."
Meanwhile, Mortensen also released a statement:
"It is with sadness in my heart I tell you that my time as the voice of CF is over. Long story short; I found myself in a situtation where I had to choose 'tween being the singer of CF and my job/personal life and I chose the latter. I hope you'll all understand that this wasn't an easy desicion for me. I'd like to thank all the people that supported our efforts during my 3+ years in CF and give a big shout-out to all the bands/crews/bartenders that put up with our shit, Cheers! Also, BIG thanks and a heartfelt goodspeed to the girls in CF who are now embarking on a new adventure... You'll get nothing but phat respect and love from me since I'll always consider you my brothers in arms."
The two members has subsequently been replaced by guitarist Dino Medanhodzic (Soulbreach) and singer Peter Tuthill (ex-Construcdead). The band elaborates:
"We have been rehearsing for the last month and the transition has gone real smooth, and we are ready to hit the stage again. The first show with the new line up will be in Sala, Sweden on the 23rd of February at Rockland."
An audition recording featuring vocals from Tuthill can be heard here (MP3).
