The Red Chord Plan Headlining Summer Tour

THE RED CHORD are currently in the studio, working on their upcoming album that is due out August 2007.

The band have just announced they will be hitting the road for the first time in 2007 on a headlining US tour, supported by THROUGH THE EYES OF THE DEAD, DESPISED ICON, ALL SHALL PERISH, SEE YOU NEXT TUESDAY and GENGHIS TRON.

"This summer marks our first full US headlining tour since the release of Clients. The tour is five bands, all on different labels bringing their own styles, identities and sounds to the table to make this run into the biggest and best experience it can be for all involved, especially the kids coming to check it out." Says frontman Guy Kozowyk "It is an honor and a pleasure to have Through the Eyes of the Dead, Despised Icon, All Shall Perish, See You Next Tuesday and Genghis Tron (only for three days - but three days of Genghis Tron is better than no Genghis Tron, right?) on this tour. Despised Icon Announce New Guitarist

DESPISED ICON have posted the following update:

“After going though tons of audition videos, we’d like to introduce our new guitarist; from Boston, Massachusetts, Mr. Al Glassman (Goratory, ex-Burn In Silence). Al learned and played the songs perfectly but most of all, he’s an awesome dude and we’re glad to have him as a guitarist and as a friend. He joined us on our latest Canadian tour and proved to us and to the rest of the crowd that he’s the perfect guy for the band. Thumbs up!

We just got home from our Canadian tour. Almost every single show was sold out! We hadn’t toured home in while and we’d like to thank everyone that showed up for making this a memorable experience. Our plane for Europe leaves tomorrow! This will be our first time touring overseas and we can’t wait to see what it’s like. We hope to see you there.”

Unearth Party w/ Aqua Teen Hunger Force Pre-Tour

UNEARTH were the main attraction at last week's Adult Swim's Aqua Teen Hunger Force Colon Movie Film For Theatres launch party in Austin TX.

UNEARTH have recorded the song "THE CHOSEN" for the forthcoming Aqua Teen Hunger Force feature film, Aqua Teen Hunger Force Colon Movie Film for Theaters ( in theaters on 4/13/2007) and the accompanying soundtrack Aqua Teen Hunger Force Colon Movie Film for Theaters Colon The Soundtrack (in stores on 4/10/2007).
Straight after their stint in Austin, TX, the band headed to Europe to join forces with DAATH, DESPISED ICON, and Metal Blade Record's newest member to the family, JOB FOR A COWBOY on a tour that will lead into late April.

"We are all eager as fuck to headline the UK and Europe for the first time. We have done some amazing European tours before, but it will feel damn good to play a full set and put on our show for our friends overseas" says vocalist, Trevor Phipps "We are hitting up some smaller venues, most without barricades, so we can bring a real Unearth show to the people. We hand picked Job For a Cowboy, Despised Icon and Daath to make sure the entire bill was one that will keep the crowds looking over their shoulders at all times!"

UNEARTH will then make their way back to the US for the highly anticipated tour with DIMMU BORGIR, DEVILDRIVER and KATAKLYSM.

"After the headlining run we come right back home for a North American tour with Dimmu Borgir, Devildriver and Kataklysm. We haven't hit the road with Dimmu since the 2004 Ozzfest, so it will be good to get out there and do it again in a club setting. Devil Driver is always a great band to share the stage with and Kataklysm is one of the best death metal bands around today" enthuses Phipps "This tour is going to be an un-fucking-real diverse clash of heavy music... good times ahead!"

Check out UNEARTH on tour on the following dates: More...

Despised Icon Begin Recording New Album

DESPISED ICON have posted the following update:

"We've been in the studio for about 2 weeks now. The drums were recorded with a click track/metronome and the result is tight as fuck. Seriously, some of the parts on this record are faster then anything we've done in the past. Alex's drumkit sounds amazing. Expect more blastbeats and gravity blasts! We've drilled holes in our heads and came up with loads of inventive breakdowns for you mosh enthousiasts. I know this is the type of stuff that all bands say but trust me, it's true and you won't be disappointed.

Guitars are about halfway done and we can't wait to see how killer things will sound once Andy Sneap starts mixing the whole thing. He made some of the best sounding recordings out there so we're defenitely stoked to be working with him. Don Clark from Invisible Creature is currently working on our album layout. He handled the art direction on NORMA JEAN's last 2 albums so you know it's going to look sick. We've worked twice as hard on this record and are very pleased with how it's coming along.

Thanks to all of those who have tried out/shown interest for the guitarist spot. We've just picked the top 3 candidates and will invite them over to Montreal to jam and hang out with us as soon as we come back from the studio. Future plans include the shooting of our new video with DBM Films in February and a Canadian and Europeen tour in March/April. We're stoked to finally tour Europe and can't wait to play in our country again!"

Despised Icon Loses Guitarist

Despised Icon guitarist Yannick St-Amand is leaving the band to focus on his family and career. The group comments:

"It’s hard to see him go. We can’t thank him enough for his contribution to this band and we’ll always remember the good times we all had. We wish him the best with his wife and new born child. Yannick will now be a full-time studio engineer and producer, with our new record being next in line for him. The recording starts January 2nd! Yannick will produce everything, then head over to the UK with Eric to hook up with Andy Sneap and oversee the mixing. Eric and Alex P. have worked hard writing most of this record and we’re all stoked about it!"

As expected, the Montreal, Canada band is now in search of a replacement. Here's the official word:

"We’re looking for a good guy/experienced guitarist that is ready to tour right away. To audition, learn “Bulletproof Scales” and “Warm Blooded”. The tabs can be found here. Tape yourself playing the songs, upload the footage and send us a link to your video at despisedicon@yahoo.ca.

As previously reported, Despised Icon are planning to record a new album in 2007 with an expected release of March or April. At that point, they will hit the road again in support of the yet-title album.
