Psychotic Gardening Releases "Searing Cital" Clip

Winnipeg, MB death/doom metal band Psychotic Gardening has unleashed a very dark music video for the track "Searing Cital," taken from latest album "Hymnosis" (reviewed here), which the band is touring Ontario and Quebec in support of from August 14th to August 24th.

Guitarist Andrew Wiens comments: "This video came together spontaneously - we came across this really creepy scene on our way out to Farmageddon in Alberta earlier this year. There were these dead trees decorated with skulls, it was a just this strange place in a farmer's field. It was seemingly there to worship death.

"I had to get out with my camera to shoot as much of it as possible. We felt like we were pushing to get anything at all and that a crazy murderous freak would come out at any moment to add our own skulls to the trees. We ended up shooting a storyline that tells the story of what we saw there and what it could mean. And of course we did it to the doom-iest of all the songs on the new album, Searing Cital." More...

Psychotic Gardening Announces New Live Shows

Winnipeg, MB death/doom metal band Psychotic Gardening is proud to announce an Eastern Canadian tour that will see the band perform dates in Ontario and Quebec in promotion of the new album "Hymnosis" (reviewed here). Guitarist Andrew Wiens comments:

"We're really excited about getting to play in Ontario and Quebec. It's going to be the first time at a lot of these places for us and so far the new album Hymnosis has been awesome to take out on the road. For us, we grew up listening to Voivod and Sacrifice, bands that we felt represented Montreal and Toronto extremely well, so we respect the history, and hard work that bands have done here, shaping the landscape we're about to march on. We're old school ourselves, and we want to bring our own dark sounds to old fans and new."

Psychotic Gardening Streaming Full New Album

Winnipeg, MB death metal band Psychotic Gardening is creeping closer to the release date of new album "Hymnosis" (read our review here) on Tuesday, May 13th.

Teaming up with Bloody-Disgusting.com, the band is now stream the full album online. Check it out below. Guitarist Andrew Wiens comments on the album:

“What we do is instinctual. We write for ourselves, to appease our own desire for music and art, it’s what motivates us. We rely on our own instincts and trust that what works for us will work for our fans. We believe in dynamics, that the juxtaposition of our faster songs with our slower songs lends power to our music. I’d like to think that Hymnosis takes you on a musical journey, through peaks and valleys - metaphorical musical textures - so that at the end of the day, you’re affected by this as a collective work.”

The band returns in 2014 with new material and the return of Chuck Labossiere after he filled in with Broken Hope for tour dates in Europe and Canada. The album is the follow-up to 2011's "Humanitorium" and 2007's debut "Hürdür."

Psychotic Gardening Releases New Music Video

Winnipeg, MB death metal band Psychotic Gardening has teamed up with Decibel Magazine to premiere the new music video "Origin of The Infection."

The clip can be seen below and was directed by guitarist Andrew Wiens in support of the forthcoming album "Hymnosis," set for release on May 13th. Andrew Wiens comments:

"The video for 'Origin of the Infection' is gritty and dark. It's the first time we've had a chance to produce a storyline into one of our videos, which is something we've wanted to do for a long time. It's basically a metaphor for some of the things we see in society. It's certainly open to some interpretation in terms of the implications of what it means and we hope it will provoke thought.

"We're really proud of this one from a number of perspectives. It was put together by my video production company with my trusty director of photography Sam Karney and I. We had a number of the guys from the band chip in and help during the production of it. It all came together in what we feel to be the best video we've done to date by far."

Psychotic Gardening Streaming Death Cover

Winnipeg's death metal troopers in Psychotic Gardening have teamed up with Bravewords.com for the exclusive premiere of their tribute to Death with a cover of "Open Casket" featuring guest appearances from Tim Roth (Into Eternity) and Chuck Wepfer (Broken Hope). Give it a listen at this location.

Andrew Wiens (guitar) comments: “Awhile back, we played with Massacre at a Chuck Schuldiner tribute show and we played ‘Open Casket.’ It turned out really cool with the slow grinding PG spin, so we just had to record it.”

Chuck Labosssiere (guitar/vocals) adds: “As it is for a lot of people, Death was a big influence on us. We wanted to pay homage but also do our own thing with it, slowing it down, making it ‘doomy.’ We like to be creative and original even when we do covers. Both Tim (Roth) and Chuck (Wepfer) are naturally big Death fans themselves, so it just worked out to be this great collaboration and tribute. I’m honoured to have these two guys appear on this song, they are great friends and awesome players”

Psychotic Gardening return in 2014 with new material and the return of Chuck Labossiere after he filled in with Broken Hope for tour dates in Europe and Canada. The forthcoming album "Hymnosis" is set for release on May 13th and will follow 2011's "Humanitorium" and 2007's debut "Hürdür." A promo clip for the new album is available below. More...
