Eternal Gray Splits Up

Guitarist Dory Gray from Israeli death metal act Eternal Gray has posted the following statement about the band calling it quits and releasing some final material:

"This message is for the real Eternal Gray fanatics. As you all know, I've decided to put the band to an end a few weeks ago.

"However, it wasn't before we we started working on our 3rd album. In these amazing inspirational times we've managed to complete 3 full songs and many more sketches. Due to the unfortunate circumstances and the fact I write music for people and not only for myself - I've decided to exceptionally release them sketches for you to listen, get a glimpse of how our 3rd album was supposed to sound like. it's yours, not ours.

"Just bear in mind these are only rough sketches, no vocals, missing instruments here and there, parts are undone and so on.

"Soon I'll upload what was yours all along and unfortunate circumstances have denied the light of day from it. It's simply unfair and I feel obligated to do this 'closure' with you guys." More...

Eternal Gray Splits With Vocalist And Bassist

Israeli death metallers Eternal Gray have issued the following announcement about lineup changes within the band:

"We would like to announce that after being several years in the band, Oren Balbus (vocals) and Gil Ben-Yaakov (bass) are no longer part of Eternal Gray.

"Gil and Oren have been our friends and band members for over seven years now, in which 'Your Gods, My Enemies' was recorded, as well as numerous unforgettable shows were played together.

"However, throughout the years, we have been faced with the difficult realization that the band’s creative future does not fit with Gil's and Oren's and therefore, had to make this tough decision. Gil and Oren will always be a part of the Eternal Gray family. We wouldn’t be where we are without their contribution, commitment and drive.

"From now on, Gil and Oren will be replaced by two talented minds: Zion Mizrachi (vocals) and Eyal Ben Shushan (bass). Both Zion and Eyal have convinced us that Eternal Gray, with them, will keep deliver the best music it possibly can and as always, keep standards high.

"Please welcome the new Face of Eternal Gray!"

Eternal Gray Streaming "Lost Control" Track

Israeli metal act Eternal Gray, formed in late 2001, signed with Season of Mist earlier this year. The band does not subscribe to Oriental metal like so many of their countrymen, instead the band's debut album "Kindless" (2002) captured attention with a unique brand of melodic death metal with a dark twist.

Recorded in the famed Abyss Studios by Tommy Tägtgren and featuring guest appearances of Peter Tätgren (Hypocrisy) and Schmier (Destruction, their first full length immediately scored full grades and even "album of the month" titles in major metal magazines.

Yet it took the Israelis eight years to follow up this success with "Your Gods, My Enemies" now to be released on Season of Mist. You can check out the opening track "Lost Control" in the player below. More...

Bands React To Tragedy In Norway

News has been circulating since yesterday of a terrorist attack in Norway on a youth camp along with a bombing, which has left at least 80 people dead. News reports have identified Anders Behring Breivik as the police's main suspect, and have cited his extreme right wing Christian views as a possible motivation for the attacks.

Several bands have since reacted to the news, with Bison B.C. stating:

"Our thoughts go out to our Norwegian brothers and sisters and to their friends and families. We hope you are all safe and well. Our condolences to those affected by the senseless actions. Glad to hear that our old tour mates and friends in Kvelertak where not in Olso when the attacks occurred. XOXO."

Defect Designer also added, "Words 'Norway' and 'Terrorism'... we did not think they can be used in same sentence. As we live in Russia, we understand you.. Hold on..."

Eternal Gray stated via a Facebook post, "To all our friends in Norway, we are sorry for your loss. Sometimes it's just so hard to believe this beast came from within us, human-kind. Inconceivable. Be strong, we send you our condolences."

Norwegian act Leprous added, "We would like to express our deepest sympathy with everyone involved in yesterdays shocking events in our hometown, Oslo. This is a day for unity, compassion and grief."

Arch Enemy's Facebook page included the following status update: "Watching the news with heavy hearts. Our thoughts are with our brothers and sisters in Norway. What a horrifying attack. It is hard to believe what happened :-("

An update from Iced Earth also stated, "Our hearts go out to the people of Norway. The loss of life is horrific, nearly too much to contemplate. (After killing seven people in a bomb blast, a lone gunman killed over 80 people, some as young as 16, in a summer youth camp.) Please join us in sending prayers, positive thoughts, and sincere condolences to the friends and family members affected by this tragedy."

Enslaved commented: "Our deepest condolences and thoughts go out to everybody touched by the fathomless tragedy that struck Norway yesterday. This is indeed a day for afterthought."

Vader Announces Show In Israel

Polish death metal act Vader will play a show in Tel Aviv this coming August 26th, 2011 at the Sublime Club. Vader will be supported by local death metal band Eternal Gray, (who's new album is coming in October through Season Of Mist), Spawn Of Evil, and Phantom Pain.

The event, titled the "Summer of Death in Israel," is Vader's second coming to the holy land after a successful show in 2002. Vader will play tunes from all the band's albums and will of course headline the night.

Promoter Yishai Swearts of Raven Music commented on the show: "When I first heard Vader's demo tape, many many years ago, I knew that the band will grow to be one the main forces in extreme metal, I follow the band since the beginning and with fantastic albums as 'Litany,' 'Black To The Blind,' 'De Profundis,' etc. they became what I knew they will - A top death metal act, without betraying the style, without lose faith, always stick to their guns. It was Vader's latest album 'Necropolis' that finally moved me to invite the band again to Israel, to play for the many extreme metal fans who are looking forward to bang heads to the massive Vader artillery. I am proud to invite and promote a band with agenda, with an honest belief, and well respected roots, I am sure both the Israeli fans, and VADER will have a night to remember!"

Ticket sales start are available through this location. You can also check out studio footage of Vader recording the band's new album "Welcome to the Morbid Reich" by heading over here.
