Chaos in Tejas 2012 Day Two

Saturday, June 2, 2012 offered a much different pace than the previous night. Where Friday night’s lineup played deliberate rhythms and struck chords that hung in the air like an ominous fog, Saturday’s day show at Beerland focused on speed. D-beats, blast beats, double picked chords partly characterized the crossover minded bands such as Midnight and Toxic Holocaust who packed a house of enthusiastic punks and metal heads.

Packing Beerland’s sloped construction did not take long. I arrived at the venue around opening time at 3:30 to find their small smoking area nearly full. I was not at the venue for long before their staff started turning away people. When someone left, someone entered. Once again, due to the staggering amount of attendees, the stuffiness of the club and humidity, I took numerous breaks from watching each band. More...

Deviated Instinct Streaming New Track

Deviated Instinct will be releasing its new four-song EP, "Liberty Crawls to the Sanctuary of Slaves," on June 10th via Profane Existence and has posted the track "Thorn in Your Flesh" over on Bandcamp. The band formed back in 1984 and was a highly influential group in the British punk/metal scene, along with such groups as Antisect and Amebix. They put out a few releases on Peaceville Records before disbanding in 1991. Back since 2007, Deviated Instinct is making up for lost time and has a few remaining tour dates that it has posted, below.

MDF 2012 Full Lineup And Set Times Announced

The tenth annual Maryland Deathfest is set to take place in Baltimore, Maryland on May 24-27, 2012. Tickets are still on sale for Friday, Saturday and Sunday, with Thursday is sold out.

The final lineup is confirmed and the running order and set times have been announced as follows:

Thursday, May 24th - Entrance opens at 4:00 pm

Maryland Deathfest 2012 Final Bands Confirmed

The tenth annual Maryland Deathfest is set to take place in Baltimore, Maryland on May 24-27, 2012 and the final 12 bands were recently announced. They are:

UNANIMATED (Sweden)

NEEDFUL THINGS (Czech Republic)

Additionally, the organizers have announced the lineup for the first day (Thursday). AUTOPSY will be headlining this day and the rest of the bands playing will be: AGALLOCH, EYEHATEGOD, RORSCHACH, DYING FETUS, DESASTER, NEEDFUL THINGS, DIE PIGEON DIE, and EXTERMINATION ANGEL.

GODFLESH (UK) will be making an exclusive North American appearance at Maryland Deathfest 2012, the festival's tenth edition.
