Below is our complete Witchery news coverage, including columns and articles pertaining to the band. Some articles listed may be indirectly related, such as side projects of the band members, etc.

A full six years after their latest studio album release, "Witchkrieg," Sweden based blackened thrash act Witchery finally return with the long-awaited 6th studio album, programmatically entitled "In His Infernal Majesty's Service" and announced for a worldwide release on November 25th, 2016 via Century Media Records.
Witchery had played a score of festivals in support of the latest release, did a tour of Japan together with Vader and Watain, but unfortunately the band's line-up rotation continued. While former Dark Funeral vocalist Emperor Magus Caligula assumed live-session duties for a while (replacing ex-Marduk/Devian frontman Legion), it was only recently that guitarist and band-leader Jensen managed to gather the right new members for the recordings of "In His Infernal Majesty's Service," as he explains:
"We've sadly had to part ways with two members prior to this album; long time band member Martin Axenrot and live member (and recording member-to-be) Emperor Magus Caligula. Martin's departure is purely down to him being too busy with his other musical endeavors and Caligula had to leave the band over an unfortunate medical condition involving his hearing. These are both serious losses for the band and we wish them all the best in the future. We have however been able to find more than able replacements for our two lost brethren: Chris Barkensjö on the drums and Angus Norder on vocals. They both bring fresh blood and fresh ideas to the band and you can clearly hear that they both have made it necessary for us "old members" to step up our game a notch or two!"
Celebrating the 20th year of the group's existence, "In His Infernal Majesty's Service" showcases an illustrious and revamped line-up consisting of original members Jensen (Guit., The Haunted), Rikard Rimfält (Guit., Seance) and Sharlee D'Angelo (Bass, Arch Enemy), alongside new additions to this nocturnal guild Angus Norder (Vox, Nekrokraft) and Chris Barkensjö (Drums, LIK). Self-evidently, Witchery stays the stylistic course and continues their infamous tradition of combining the best elements of old school Thrash, Speed, Death, Black and ultimately pure Heavy Metal with dead-on songwriting precision for maximum listening pleasure. In regards to the musical approach and the recording procedure goals with the new album, which was produced and mixed by Daniel Bergstrand at Dug Out Studio (Behemoth, In Flames, Meshuggah), Jensen adds the following: More...

Hatebreed has been confirmed to perform at the 2011 edition of the Summer Breeze Open Air. The festival is set to take place from August 18th - 20th, and additional details can be found here. The organizers of the festival commented:
"Summer Breeze has already survived a few tremors over the last few years, but the most severe eruption of them all is yet to come. Hatebreed are gearing up to utterly destroy Dinkelsbühl in 2011 with their killer songs. No other band out there combines the attitude and aggression of hardcore and the uncompromising heaviness of metal in such a perfect way. Scene icon Jamey Jasta and his wrecking crew are the epitome of unleashed energy, the embodiment of credibility, the essence of groove, the purest form of brutality, the rulers of all pits and the blueprint for a whole generation, all rolled into one. Please welcome one of the most important and influential bands of the last decade for the first time at Summer Breeze! Hard, harder, Hatebreed!"

The organizers of the Summer Breeze fest have issued the following announcement about Hammerfall headlining the 2011 edition of the festival:
"Merry Christmas! Now that we're halfway through our Advent Calendar, which has had plenty of killer bands so far, we want to present you the first headliner for Summer Breeze 2011: Hammerfall.
"They are one of the most relevant and successful heavy metal bands of the last 15 years, yet they have never played at Summer Breeze. It's about time to change that! We are extremely happy to present Hammerfall as one of this year's headliners! The undisputed leaders of true metal have loads of metal anthems and catchy melodies under their belt, after they almost single-handedly put traditional power metal back on the map with their glorious 1997 debut 'Glory To The Brave.'
"And what started as a fairytale became a metal dream come true, including high chart entries all over Europe for every one of their seven studio albums. If each of you goes back in time for a minute, you will certainly remember at least one metal party where you were banging your fists singing along to hymns such as 'Steel Meets Steel', 'Hearts on Fire' or 'Heeding The Call'. To put it in their own words: 'Brothers unite! Let's stand up and fight!'" More...

Swedish thrash metallers Witchery, featuring former members of Satanic Slaughter and Martin Axenrot of Opeth, have posted their new music video online via the Century Media YouTube channel. The video is for the song "Conqueror's Return" and is featured on the band's 2010 release "Witchkrieg."

Witchery has posted a music video online for the title track off the band's new album "Witchkrieg." The video clip can be viewed below.
Witchery is currently streaming another new song online from the upcoming album "Witchkrieg," which is set to be released via Century Media Records on June 21st in Europe and June 29th in North America. The new song "From Dead To Worse" features a guest solo from Andy LaRoque of King Diamond fame and can be heard on the band's MySpace site.
Witchery guitarist Jensen commented, "Andy was an old friend of the band since he recorded the Witchburner EP (back in 1999). I think all musicians would at some point like to play with other musicians that they respect. Like with jazz, the constellations of musicians are always changing, but with metal its a lot more rigid. Having people do guest solos is the closest way of collaborating in metal." Other guest guitarists on the album are Gary Holt & Lee Altus (Exodus), Hank Shermann (Mercyful Fate, Demonica) Jim Durkin (Dark Angel) and Kerry King."
Witchery has posted behind-the-scenes footage from the shooting of an upcoming music video, which can be viewed below. The band also checked in with the following update:
"Hard to believe that a satanic supergroup like Witchery never did a video before. But in their 13th year of unholy existence Jensen (The Haunted), Sharlee D’Angelo (Arch Enemy, Spiritual Beggars), Rickard Rimfält (Séance), Martin Axe (Opeth, Bloodbath) and new vocalist Legion (ex-Marduk, ex-Devian) finally got together in Stockholm in early May to shoot a video for the title track of the new album 'Witchkrieg.' The video is filmed, directed and produced by Daniel Larrson and Jensen's The Haunted buddy Anders Bjoerler. If you have seen Daniel Larrson's amazing The Haunted 'Trenches' video you will have an idea what the team is able to do. Check out the Making-Of of 'Witchkrieg' video below.
"Everybody who followed the last Witchery news, will know that no one else than Kerry King played a guest solo on the 'Witchery' track. Everybody who's following The Haunted news knows that they are supporting Slayer this summer in Europe. Does it mean that Kerry will appear in the video clip? Maybe yes or maybe not – let the rumour start. The new track 'The Reaver' can be heard on our MySpace page and features Gary Holt and Lee Altus of Exodus. 'Witchkrieg' will be released by Century Media Records June 21st, 2010 in Europe and June 29th, 2010 in North America."
Witchery's line-up reads like the who's who of Swedish Metal: Jensen (guitars) plays with The Haunted; solo-guitarist Rickard Rimfält for Séance; bass player Sharlee D’Angelo is in charge of the deep end of Arch Enemy and Spiritual Beggars; while drummer Martin Axe hits the skins of Opeth and Bloodbath. The band's upcoming album "Witchkrieg," set for a June 29th North American release, also features the debut of new vocalist Legion (ex-Marduk, ex-Devian).
Guitar player Jensen had met Kerry in 1999 on the first U.S. tour of his band in Los Angeles after the Witchery show at The Whiskey. “He came on our bus and we partied all night long. We played air guitar while listening to old Rainbow records,” Jensen remembers. “At the Roskilde Festival in Denmark I bumped into him again. I played him the song, he listened to it three times straight and said: 'Yeah, I'll do it.’"
Hank Sherman (Mercyful Fate, Force Of Evil) was already guesting on three former discs by Witchery. “He is a good friend and will play with us on the next and the next one after that,” reckons a smiling Jensen. Also on board is Andy La Rocque (King Diamond): "It’s always cool to put down a solo on a good song and something that is good sounding, I think I was in the right mood at the time also, which made it sounding melodic and crying."
The new track “The Reaver” can be heard now at the band's MySpace page and features Gary Holt and Lee Altus of Exodus. Gary Holt: "While in Europe touring for The Atrocity Exhibition our good friends in Witchery (as well as a couple of other bands you may have heard of!) kidnapped Lee and I for a little guitar solo madness, which we were more than happy to provide! We had a blast, shredded some solos, went to our gig and proceeded to get wrecked, which included a bit of artistic sharpie work on the engineer! Good times!" More...
In a recent interview with Metalunderground.com Witchery/Seance guitarist Rille Rimfält revealed that Witchery has started recording a follow up to the 2006 album "Don't Fear the Reaper." Rimfält made the following statement about the recording:
"Next up is to finish the next Witchery album. Everything is recorded except the lyrics. Jensen is writing the lyrics right now on tour with The Haunted. So next month we probably start to record the missing pieces."
WITCHERY’s first spell, “Plague Rider,” from their upcoming album Don’t Fear The Reaper, has been posted here. Scheduled for North American release March 21st, the album was recorded at Berno Studios (Amon Amarth, Dark Funeral) in 2004, with mixing duties entrusted to Tue Madsen and his Antfarm Studios (The Haunted, Heaven Shall Burn). Original artwork by David Diaz (P.O.D.) has been posted here. The North American release features an exclusive track, a cover version of Satanic Slaughter’s classic “Legion Of Hades.”
Sweden's Witchery recently returned from a two year hiatus to sign a worldwide deal with Century Media Records. "Don't Fear The Reaper" will be the band'sr fourth full-length offering.
Sweden's Witchery have returned from the dead after a two year hiatus to sign a worldwide deal with Century Media Records and deliver their highly-anticipated fourth full-length offering Don't Fear The Reaper, which is set for a late March release.
Led by Jensen (The Haunted), Richard Corpse, Toxine and Mique, Witchery's spell was cast upon our earthly existence back in 1997. Before recording their debut album, Restless And Dead, Jensen recruited Sharlee D'Angelo (Arch Enemy, ex-Mercyful Fate) and got him on board for the unholy alliance. Subsequently, the band released the Witchburner EP (feat. cover songs by Judas Priest, Black Sabbath, W.A.S.P. and Accept). Their second full-length album, Dead, Hot And Ready, stirred up a strong buzz in the underground metal scene, helping the band tour the U.S. and Europe.
In 2001, the group delivered Symphony For The Devil, their first album staring drummer Martin Axenrot (Bloodbath, Opeth), which quickly solidified them as one of the genre's best. Jensen's touring commitments with The Haunted forced Witchery into hibernation for some time, but the band finally recorded their new masterpiece Don't Fear The Reaper at Berno Studios in the Fall of 2004. The album was mixed by Tue Madsen at Antfarm Studios (The Haunted, Heaven Shall Burn, Mnemic) and features the band's catchiest, yet most savage material to date.
Jensen (guitars) further describes his excitement over their new deal: "Finally, I'll say it again...finally, Witchery has signed a new deal. This time with Century Media. I'm really glad that we will be handled by the same team that has done such a great job for our other bands – The Haunted and Arch Enemy. Our new album. Don't Fear The Reaper, has been recorded, mixed and mastered since October 2004, so it feels really great to be able to say to all the Witchery fans I've met over the past years that the album will definitely be out early next year! A new website will be up and running soon too, so keep an eye out for that. There will be touring and major festivals appearances coming up next year, as well. See you all out there soon."
Witchery, the cult Swedish metalheads featuring members of The Haunted and Arch Enemy, have finished recording a new, as yet untitled album. The band are now looking for a label deal. Interested parties should contact email@example.com.
Witchery guitarist Patrik Jensen (The Haunted) has posted the following message at the Earth-Dog.com message board:
Alright, so where do I start... It's been a long time since Witchery has done anything... I think the last thing we did was the tour of Mexico we did together with The Haunted and To/Die/For... can't even remember when the Hell that was haha
"Oh well..anyways, after The Haunted had completed the new album, I guess the time was right, if not even way overdue, to get a new Witchery album done. Richard, Martin and myself had rehearsed a few times during my 2003 xmas visit to my old home town, so we had material for 3-4 songs floating around. However, we didnt get writing & rehearsing really going until late June, due to touring & festival obligations I had with The Haunted.
"We rehearsed all through the summer, and by the first week of August, we had all the songs written. We recorded the yet untitled album at the Berno studio in Malmö, Sweden (same studio as for 'Symphonies for the Devil'). We have 16 songs that are being mixed & mastered right now.
"Some song titles are:
01. Draw Blood
03. Disturbing the Beast
05. War Piece
"Hopefully, the album will be out before the end of this year... The album title will be posted, as soon as a title has been chosen
"And finally, to state the obvious, the Witchery home page has been terribly neglected lately. This will be rectified as soon as possible."
In a recent announcement from guitarist Blakkheim (also Katatonia, Diabolical Masquerade), Swedish Death metal superband BLOODBATH have enlisted the talents of HYPOCRISY legend Peter Tägtgren to replace the departed Mike Åkerfeldt (Opeth) and WITCHERY drummer Martin "Axe" Axenrot. Here's Blakkheim's statement:
"Here are the official announcements directly from the boiling brew of blood you've been waiting for. The dark grave of ex-vocalist Mike Åkerfeldt has now got a new inhabitant that needs no further introduction - Peter Tägtgren! Furthermore, after analyzing a wide range of drummers, we handpicked Martin "Axe" Axenrot! Widely known for helluva fiercly beats in bands such as Witchery, Satanic Slaughter, Nepehenzy Chaos Order. We're currently in the heat of fire composing the last material to the album and will soon deliver some titles. Until then, let the blood run red.”
Bloodbath are completed by Katatonia/October Tide bassist Jonas Renske and jack-of-all-trades guitarist Dan Swano.
