System Of A Down have set "Hypnotize" as the title of their next studio album, according to Germany's Rock Hard magazine. The follow-up to 2001's "Toxicity", which bowed at No. 1 on The Billboard 200 and has sold 3.3 million copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan, is tentatively due on January 18, 2005 (one day earlier internationally). Rick Rubin is producing the new effort for his American Recordings label, with Jonny Polonsky engineering.

As previously reported, System Of A Down have been confirmed for the 2005 edition of the Big Day Out festival. The trek, which is scheduled to kick off January 21 in Auckland, New Zealand, is also set to include appearances by Beastie Boys, The Donnas and Powderfinger, among other acts.

22. SOAD is good rock and roll music. writes:

SOAD is one of the great bands of this 2000's decade. By far they have done some great work with their 1998 self-titled debut, 2001 follow-up Toxicity, and 2002 Steal This Album! Now Hypnotize is coming and it will by far add more for SOAD to build on. This may be the album that catapults them to superstar rock status. Definitely on the heavyweights of the 2000's. Expect this album to rock, and rock hard.
