I dig this. But it's not Howard Jones. I'm sorry, but I actually prefer Howard's albums to Jesse's. I do like Leach's albums though, just not as much. I'm huge on Times Of Grace though, listening to it right now haha.
Anyway, Jones' new project with Francesco Artusato of All Shall Perish is sure to give me my Howard Jones fix. That is a duo that'll do great things, kinda like how Adam and Jesse did Times Of Grace. So pumped. I'm only slightly excited for new Killswitch. I'm still gonna check it out of course. They're a force to be reckoned with regardless of how I feel about the new lineup, and they're still great live.

I gotta disagree with you ZMA. To me jesses albums slaughtered As daylight die and the selftitled, only one that comes even close to touching KSE first album is end of heartache.
Vide infra will always be my favouite KSE song, and jesses singing sections in alive or just breathin are godlike to my ears.
Howard jones voice is epic i cant deny that but his lyrics n vocal structure dont compare.

It's really preference I think. Literally, almost everyone I know likes Jesse more than Howard. I mean, I understand why. A lot of it has to do with him just being the original vocalist, simple as that. Everyone got real into the sound they had, and when they switched singers and changed their lineup around, even though a lot of people didn't hate it, they couldn't bounce back from Leach's vocals.
It's tough to not get into an argument with this lol, cause I truly think, for sheer capability Howard is an all around better vocals. Like, he's got more range.
No knocks on Jesse though, he's got more than enough range, and he did sing and scream Howard's songs and he sounded great, but I love everything about Howard. His lows are more guttural, his highs are clear, and his actual singing is filled with that black soul haha. He can bring such emotion out of me.
But once again, nothing against Jesse at all. Truly a gifted vocalist, and he writes catchy stuff. I really hope I see more Times Of Grace, and I AM looking forward to this new Killswitch. These songs just haven't had the impact the past few albums had on me.
It sucks that a lot of people hate the second self titled. I really liked it.
Ya know, what is (before I stop writing this essay lol)? I think the first Killswitch Engage song I ever heard was off The End Of Heartache, so it locked me into Howard's vox. That's probably why I like him more. Like, I said, whatever you hear first, usually your ears will stick to that sound, and when it's changed, sometimes it's rough on the ears. I'm not saying it's like that for you though, Broken.

I really don't know what to think. KsE is an interesting subject. I do like Jesse...like these new songs...but I have to agree with ZMA. I would've really liked to see Howard stay with KsE and see Jesse/Adam stick to Times of Grace (awesome debut album). I prefer Howard Jones for KsE and think he's more talented overall. Was sad to see him go. I think Jesse writes better lyrics...much better actually...but performance wise I'll take my man HOJO any day.
I'm still excited to see what's in store for this band. I'll check out the new album for sure. Maybe you're right ZMA...maybe if we get some new Howard it'll hold us over and we can embrace the "new old KsE" for what it is. :D
