Anthrax Issues Statement On Splitting With Guitarist Rob Caggiano

Anthrax has checked in with the following announcement about parting ways with guitarist Rob Caggiano:

"Rob has been an integral part of Anthrax for so many years, as our lead guitarist, in a production capacity, but most of all, as our close friend. His contributions to the band have been enormous.

"While we are sad that he is leaving, we wish him nothing but great success going forward, and hope to share the stage with him again sometime down the road.

"With the Metal Alliance Tour on the horizon, we have been considering several lead guitarist options, and will be making an announcement on that shortly."

Dates for the Metal Alliance tour with Exodus, Municipal Waste, and Holy Grail can be found at this location.

The timing is odd considering their recently announced tour with Exodus. I'd say bring back Spitz, but I think he's a successful watchmaker, probably hasn't picked up a guitar in years.

I don't think they'll have much of a problem bringing in a lead man. Anthrax leads are fun.

Worship Music was the best Anthrax album in a long time. It was nice to see Bellodanna back but to hear that rob is leaving its just gonna make Anthrax incomplete agian in my Opinion.

Anthrax splits quite often, though. Its pretty sad. I love them, but every few years, someone either leaves, or they "break up". Its getting old at this point.

I'm hearing of a few candidates do far. One of which being Bobby Gufstafson. He's the old guitarist from Overkill. E-limination. He would be a great fit and would be awesome to see him back on stage killing it!!

I wonder why Rob left. It's not like Anthrax is a full day job these days, I'd imagine.

Btw, It would be pretty comical seeing Anthrax being inducted to the RockNRoll Hall of Fame with all the past and present band members onstage at the same time.

Frankly, Scott and Charlie should ask Chris Broderick. Who knows, he might be fed up with his present employer. Just saying.
