Jimmy Bower Slams Vinnie Paul And Dimebag Darrell
SUPERJOINT RITUAL guitarist Jimmy Bower recently spoke to Rob Ridner about the war of words between SUPERJOINT singer Philip Anselmo and his former PANTERA bandmates Dimebag Darrell (guitar) and Vinnie Paul (drums).
"Fuck Dimebag Darrell and Vinnie Paul, fuck them!" Jimmy said. "They fucked me out of a deal with Randall, personally. The things they say in the press, all their facts are wrong. We never really, talked about them — we just kept touring. Since 2000 when PANTERA stopped working, Philip and I have put out three records and did about 12 tours. We did the DOWN record, did both the SUPERJOINT records and those dudes didn't do anything besides shoot their mouths off for years. Then they put out this record ('New Found Power'), which I think is a piece of shit. I know what those guys are capable of and I don't like it, to me it sounds like nu-metal. They never were underground, Phil was the most underground thing about that band (PANTERA). Phil turned those dudes onto the underground. Except for SLAYER coming to town, Dimebag didn't know anything about SLAYER. It's just crazy how the press and everything have their facts just so fucking wrong. I try to keep my mouth shut though."
"With regards to the musical direction on SUPERJOINT's upcoming third album, Bower said, "If I had things my way, I would have it go even more towards an old BLACK FLAG sound. I think the new record is going to go that way anyhow. The new record is going to be killer man. Everybody has had a chance to chill out and just write their own stuff. We haven't really gotten together and fed off the chemistry, because the chemistry of this band is insane, it's just crazy. SUPERJOINT is one of the craziest bands I've ever played in. Philip is the best arranger I've ever met in my life. He is one of the most professional musicians I have played with in my life."

Quite frankly arguing who is better proves notihng the only way to prove whos better is by taking the fight on stage in a epic battle of vocals guitarmanship bass playing shredding and drumplaying all differences are settled there and no where else

SJR Kills! The reason Pantera is no longer is cuz Phil wanted to go more old school and Dime and Vinnie wanted to try some nu school. That sh** broke up the band. SJR makes great f***in music and puts on a brutal live show. The Damageplan cd is weak and now I can fully see why Phil isn't with those guys anymore.....

Forget about Phil and Rexx moving on to other project's. The bottom line is the most effective portion
of Pantera is in Damageplan. Everybody out there can hear the truth. Your ears don''t lie!
Damageplan is not the masterpiece I was expecting. Case in point , St. Anger's big disappointment
with all of us who can still hear! For some strange reason the band's we think are the most
musically credible have not been convincing lately. Dime is still a riffing,and soloing freak, but the song's and the musicianship don't blend enough anymore. Hell if I wanted a two decent track cd,
I would start buying rap on a regular basis. All of us out here in this metal world should know when
we're getting nothing for something. We talked sh** about load and reload being different,but we
could at least stand to listen to the damn thing! Production Quality is down and fading. Come on
METAL WORLD! OUR BAND'S ARE LETTING US DOWN. St anger is proof that we don't love
Metallica, for just being a band. We expect the best from the best, and everyone agree's even if the
song's were masterpieces the entire album sound's like sh**!
Damageplan is fair, but it aint no vulgar! Should it be like vugar? No, but it could be better both in
writting and production quality. Live show's are any band's definitive moment, but I still want a badazz
cd.

rex the bass player of pantera and is in down and crowbar, down is another side band of phils and jimmys plus coc and crowbar, who gives a fu&k about if dime and vinnie hate phil or visa versa, i dont! i listen to music not a sopeopera! i would love to see pantera on one last tour but its best to go out when your on top and thats when they did, as for damageplan i was very disopointed it sounds like the band are trying to be hardcore but they are trying far too hard, kind of eric clapten being in cradle of filth doesn't work!!!

I dont mind SJR, believe me, but this whole "dime said, phil said" sh** is really pissing me off. First off, Pantera is over and gone forever, face the facts. Talking about "who is better" only turns people off to the music. I really dont understand it...
I would advise any Pantera fan to go out and buy both SJR and DamagePlan, who knows...maybe you might ACTUALLY like both bands...in the mean time...stop b****ing about musicianship, and JUST LISTEN
Also, superjoint1979...i think Pat has some decent range...literally, the guy can wail...

That is complete crap....first off superjoint sucks my anus...2nd of damageplan is ok. They dont get as much credit as pantera, but im sure they will make it there. This guys perception is twisted.
