Born Of Osiris Splits With Guitarist Jason Richardson

Born of Osiris has issued the following announcement about parting ways with the band's guitarist:

"To all of our fans and followers, we have decided to part ways with guitarist Jason Richardson. This was something that just needed to happen. We will be a more creative, energized, and focused unit as a result.

"The past year was the band's most successful and we owe it all to our amazing fans. We promise everyone that 2012 will see us take further steps to bringing every aspect of our band to a new level. We couldn't possibly be more excited for what the future holds.

"Also, since the finishing touches were put on The Discovery we've already been in the process of writing our next album. The past month and next two we will be home writing and finalizing the record that will be released this summer/fall.

"Big news coming soon regarding our summer touring schedule, we can't wait to see all of you again soon with some new music to play for you! We will TEMPORARILY be accepting video submissions for the spot at BOOlessons@yahoo.com."

Bad decision. Leads were the best, playing was the best (on all instruments) and everyone knows that the drummer wrote the first two albums.

GG BOO.

I'm a recent convert to BOO.
I'm NOT liking this move by the band as his lead work on Discovery was incredible.
I hope this doesn't "F" up their sound too much.
I really hope they don't slide back to the "core" sound too much or go in other crappy direction (Hip hop, rap, etc...)
I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
As for 2011 "The Discovery" and Septic Flesh's "Great Mass" are tied for # 1.
No two recordings have gotten that much play on my I Pod other than those two.
Don't mess it up guys, you're one of the most promising tech death bands out there who are actually listenable.

BoO were always terrible. Their lead guitarist was pretty amazing though, so kicking him out that way made them even more terrible. Oh and Chelsea Grin f***ing blows too.

i never heard he was kicked out of asp? i was always under the impression that he rolled when the boo spot opened which was a good decison on his part. as for him getting kicked from boo, the honest truth hes from my general area and i know a few people that knew him. all accounts have said he is kind of a tool a hell of a guitarist but a tool nonetheless. so maybe that had something to do with it?
