I still think David Lee Roth looks like Cliff Richard in this video. I also think if any other band wrote music like this, they'd be shrugged off instantly, but since it's Van Halen and it's their first album since God knows when, it'll sell decently. Not horrendous, but I wouldn't call it "good" either. That said, I've never been a Van Halen fan.

Time to remember VH....
I loved their old stuff but I lost respect for the VH bros. a long time ago.
This song?
Yawn, boring.
Not bad, not good.
I guess I can't get into this "reunion" since it's anything but without Anthony.
That's one reason I hate this new version. The way they've treated the guy over the years. I guess Roth won't even appear on stage with him. How old are these guys again???
Grow up.
And when Eddie hired Cherone and said he could release an album of noise and people would buy it because his name was on it.
That theory was proven incorrrect lol as Cherone got the boot/quit...whatever.
Then we have the rock and roll hall of fame induction.
Sammy and Anthony show up.
Eddie was in rehab taking hair lessons from Amy Winehouse (kidding).
Roth and Alex declined to attend....REAL CLASSY.
Even though I hate the Hall of Fame, that was a new low even for them.
They really are no different from Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley...bunch of greedy tools.

Sort of directed to BrianMN's comment.
Why does it feel like an abundance of heavy rock players from around that era are just fvckin' idiots? Van Halen, GNR, Kiss, Danzig. I feel like a lot of bands like that, that border heavy metal, but not exactly there, act really egotistical. Like they're all idiot savants is what it feels like. They're all great players but they won't come out of their self absorbed shells.
Could just be in my head, but the whole Hall of Fame, DLR not playing with Anthony thing made me think the above statements.
Sh!t like that really effects the music for me.

@ZMA...you're totally right.
It's too bad ego gets the better of these people but it does.
You see it EVERYWHERE in the entertainment industry.
Metal, Country, Rap, the film industry.
Michael Jackson.
George Lucas.
The ego comes from these people locking themselves in a bubble surrounded by "yes" men who simply will not criticize them no matter how badly they're f****** up.
Same with Metallica.
You have to have "real" people in your life to help keep your head on straight or you end up like Wacko Jacko or Lucas, locked away in a compound plotting how to further p*** on your own legacy.
VH is no different, they've been in their own little wealthy worlds for so long now they think they can do nothing wrong.
You think the Cherone era would have been a wake up call but once again look at Metallica and their multiple flops.
The fans stop mattering and the only thing that matters is their ego being constantly fed.
Tragic.

Oh my god yes George Lucas is the king sitting in that throne in the hall of fvck ups. Hey lemme completely change my movies so they're nothing like the originals, then release the sh!tty Star Wars films in 3D. You can't change people like that unless you actually barge into his house drag him out to the pool by his feet and throw him into it. He should at least release the originals next to the remakes. That's what Spielberg did with E.T. so I can at least watch the originals.
I just hope that never happens to me in life weather I get famous or not.
Some musicians have come out of their bubbles in the past few years which is great. But the majority can still go fvck themselves because no matter how good they make their music, they'll never win me over unless they start actually being oh I don't know.......nice.

@ZMA....I feel the same way about Lucas.
I'd LOVE to have the originals on DVD.
He'd shut EVERYONE up if he'd just release them
He can tinker all he wants just gimme the originals.
Until then....
Google "Harmy, Star Wars".
Harmy is a fan who feels the same way we do.
He/She (not sure) took a DVD of Star Wars and on a old laptop erased all of Lucas' changes. You can download it from multiple sites and burn it to a dvd. Granted it's not 1080p blu ray but it's as close as we'll get to a original on DVD. I'm happy I still have my VHS. Copies. I did buy the re releases that had the originals as a "bonus disc". Man, was that a slap in the face. He didn't even bother to clean it up or anything. He just took the laserdisc version and slapped in on a DVD with no care what so ever.
Try Harmy though, people seem to be really happy with that version.
I'm not sure if he's done Empire or Jedi he may have already...you'll have to check.
Later dude...

That was horrible!!
Is THIS the Van Halen / DLR comeback ??
I wonder what their manager said when he heard this one? ("erm... good going, guys..."?)
Btw, who is VH playing to anyway these days?
Do they have fans left (after this)? Bunch of 50something guys - minus the bassist - singing about endless nights and Californian babes?
I'm sincerely happy both Sammy Hagar and Michael Anthony are not in THIS band.
After hearing this, so are they, no doubt.
Great to see those two making fantastic music with Joe Satriani and Chad Smith, btw.

Christ Almighty...
what will they fiddle up in their noodley walnut brains next?
sh**, I thought all them dudes were dead...might as well be I guess, it'd do our better sensibilities a goddamned favor anyhow
and all this time, I thought HAGAR was horrible...and he is, but is at least savvy enough to stay holed up down south o' the border at Cabo Jabo, or whatever the fvck that clowney sh!t is called, and spare us the washed-up redundant nonsense
NP---Joe Dirt---it rubs the lotion on the skin!

Um, . . . I know its Van Halen, and its been a long time since Hot for Teacher, but . . . this almost sounds like when Metallica cut their hair and released Load, but they asked Lou Reed to sing. Like something like that would ever happen haha . . . wait
