New York hardcore outfit No Redeeming Social Value has issued a statement regarding the death of Anal Cunt frontman and founder, Seth Putnam, who died yesterday from a suspected heart attack. The group's message reads as follows:
"R.I.P. Seth Putnam of Anal Cunt. Truly a sad day it is that we have lost such a tremendous talent. NRSV has enjoyed playing w/ A.C. over the years as they were one of the best, and most revolutionary bands of our time. Never again will we hear/ play 'Anal Cunt Sucks and They're All Gay' w/o thinking of Seth and his awesome talent. See you in Hell my friend!"

I never said I was restricted to that time period, any legit musician whether he/she be 20 or 90 should be recognized, I herd of his passing, never listened to him before and tried him out. He may have some talent, but if he did, it got lost in the commercialization of the music.

"got lost in the commercialization of the music." You are saying that about a band that never left the underground.
And how are we able to take someone like your seriously? You apparently judge bands are lyrics, and weather or not they use no-no words. It's not that important what a band is saying, it's important HOW they f***ing say it.

Yeah OZ!!! Go listen to some Black Sabbath so that you'll know what talent is. LMFAO! The Irony, the fvcking irony!!!
JGill: You need to learn a little respect you fvckin tree huggin filthy hippie. Don't assume that nobody on this site has heard or spent a great deal of time listening to the "respectable musicians" that you listed (Leon Russel??? Really???). Now get back to your commune and weaving your fvcking seaweed sandals and leave the metal to those who have a clue.

What i think some of the young people here(i'm gettin old at 32) are saying is that seth putnam and AC pretty much set out to be offensive to the ears of a generation raised on CCR, Hendrix and various forms of dinosaur arena rock like Frampton were used to....its not meant to be liked by everybody and people are pretty upset at his passing....

Music has been a major part of my life since the 60's (yes I'm an old fart), but the 60's and 70's spawned some real talent. I was even there when the FCC stopped censoring our music and four letter words suddenly became the attraction rather than the music. People like Seth was one of these people who substituted fowl language for talent. I don't like speaking bad about the dead, but I'm sure they'll enjoy hie type of "talent" where he's heading.
Enough said, I'm going back to; Uriah Heep, Doobie Bros., Ted Nuget, CSNY, Santana, Sammy Hagar, King Crimson, Leon Russell, Joe Walsh, Yes, Cactus and Black Sabath; just to name a few. Try some of these guy's on for size.
