I saw Venom in London in March 2006, with Onslaught (who had reunited a few months before) supporting. Onslaught were amazing and their performances made me a fan instantly. Venom were also fantastic and I would certainly recommend seeing them, but they only played for 50 minutes, no encore, which was only 20 minutes longer than Onslaught's set, so I was really disappointed about that. Other than that though, excellent live band.

Unfortunately Oz ; the Venoms ; Saxons ; Angel Witches @ Onslaught don't come accross the pond too often. When they do; its a select handful of dates. I had a Onslaught tape in mid 80s and it was often played. Forget the name of it but they were awesome. Venom@ Saxon someday I will see live. Venom btw were such a huge influence on the mid 80s US thrash@ speed metal sound.

They certainly were, see my SOS article on them http://www.metalunderground.com/news/details.cfm?newsid=49780
Believe it or not, Venom don't perform much in the UK either. I think they stick to mainland Europe more because they have a bigger fan base. The tour I saw them on only had three dates (London, Manchester and Glasgow I believe) and I don't think they performed in the UK at all since "Hell" came out. It's a shame Saxon don't come to the States much because they're an amazing live band. I think Onslaught would fare better in the States if an American thrash band like Overkill or Exodus took them on the road as special guests, because I don't think they're well known enough to come to the US as a headlining act, though I'm sure that's what they'd like to do. Angel Witch, much like Venom, don't perform in the UK often either. I'll be seeing them for the first time in June, and even then I'm travelling to Belgium to see them.

The Logistics of UK : European of touring US are probably difficult. Label support to offset travel;bus rental and such is probably a must. Unless your a massive name like Motorhead; it probably isn't financially worth the trip over. I'm thinking Priest ;when they do their final tour cold being over Saxon. Whitesnake joined them on their 30th B. Steel tour a couple of years ago. Which I unfortunately missed btw. Will check out the article
