Dillinger Gets Vocals

New Jersey post-hardcore luminaries The Dillinger Escape Plan have confirmed former Faith No More vocalist Mike Patton to be the vocalist on the band's upcoming EP for Epitaph Records.

Here's the excerpt from the band's official website:

  • "In other news, yes it’s true...Mike Patton will be lending his vocals to the upcoming 18 min Dillinger ep. Which will include two more typical Dillinger songs, a more melodic electronic type song, and a cover. The Escape Plan is almost completely done recording these pieces so keep an eye out for some audio samplets."

  • Meanwhile, The Dillinger Escape Plan continue writing material for the follow-up to the highly acclaimed Calculating Infinity album. The group debuted a new song without vocals at this year's Krazyfest in Louisville, Kentucky. Reports say that the song was more melodic but still very much in the same fashion as previous material. So far, no vocalist has been found to replace Dimitri Minakakis.

  • In other news, German hack-and-slash techno outfit Atari Teenage Riot are aiming to remix The Dillinger Escape Plan's "43% Burnt" for the upcoming DIY Festival compilation. The band describes the remix as "a train wreck that you can dance to."
