Mastodon Uploads Full Peformance Of "Oblivion" From New Concert DVD
American progressive metal act Mastodon has posted a full performance clip online to promote its forthcoming new live CD/DVD set "Mastodon: Live At The Aragon." "Live At The Aragon" is set for release on March 15, 2011 through Reprise Records. The two disc set was filmed and recorded during the band's October 17, 2009 concert at the Aragon Ballroom in Chicago, Illinois and features a performance of the "Crack The Skye" album in its entirety. Couldn't agree more...I saw this show early in their tour and was disappointed. Believe it or not, they're even better in this clip than what I experienced.
I'm definitely a fan of early and recent Mastodon and love Crack the Skye. For what it's worth, the show picked up once they got to the oldies. I was just giving them the benefit of the doubt by blaming the sound tech...not so sure anymore.

Crack The Skye was such an amazing album...I just wish they could sing the songs live without sounding terrible. It doesn't do the music justice.
