The Rockstar Ramblings: Speaking of…

While Warrant is putting the finishing touch on their new album we take a moment to think about Jani Lane and where he may be. I like to think he is part of a mentoring program, helping lead singers get through serving their time in jail/prison. Right now Jani is opening a letter with his next project, the letter says simply: Vince Neil…

Speaking of Vince Neil (Motley Crue), it looks like he will have scheduled Motley Crue dates to look forward to after serving his time. Not sure if the band will need rehearsal, of course Vince could just grab a few men from the inside and rock out to “Jailhouse Rock”, seems to be a favorite of his…

During the half-time show we got a look at Slash (Velvet Revolver, ex-Guns N Roses) playing “Sweet Child O’ Mine” with Fergie on vocals. Is it just me or did Slash’s hair look extra blown out for this performance? I immediately thought about Willie Aames playing Buddy in the sitcom Charles in Charge. Yes, I probably need to spend some time on a couch talking this through…

Speaking of couches: Mr. Big’s new video for “All the Way Up” is a clever way to show that “we are old and can appreciate a good sit”…

Once again Axl Rose (Guns N Roses) is battling rumors that there is going to be a U.S. tour announcement coming soon. So in Axl speak that means there is a tour announcement coming soon? Mr. Rose confuses me…

Speaking of confusing, Jon Bon Jovi (Bon Jovi) is trying to buy a portion of the Atlanta Falcons football team. Not sure why this is, but this has allegedly motivated Bret Michaels (Poison) to bid on a piece of the L.A. Clippers basketball franchise. Michaels thought is he can put a group of Rock of Love cheerleaders in to compete with the L.A. Laker girls on a nightly basis. I’ve already come up with their slogan: Not as Pretty, Twice as Sleazy, and Three times as Easy...

Duff McKagan’s band Loaded is set to release their new album in April. Their new release contains the song titles “We Win”, “Cocaine”, and “Follow Me To Hell”. So how does this work? Once a year several representatives from ex-GNR, Buckcherry, AC/DC, etc… get together and decide who gets to use “Coke” or “Hell” in song titles for their albums? Does Gene Simmons (KISS) just email everyone and say he’ll take five songs with the word “Rock” in the title? This happens, right?...

Speaking of song titles, Aerosmith’s song sales are up drastically thanks to Joe Perry acting mysteriously…

An Australian radio show called “Hot Breakfast” is saying Van Halen is looking to tour after a new album is released in August. Good news for VH fans, but more importantly is the show “Hot Breakfast” like the “Morning Zoo” shows in the states where everyone tries to laugh over each other and then try to make Queen Latifah jokes that sound funny and edgy?...

Speaking of radio shows, Nikki Sixx’s radio program, The Sixx Sense celebrates 1 year with the quote: “They hired a train wreck. The least we can do is wreck a few trains along the way.” Congratulations Nikki…

Rob Zombie (White Zombie) will be introducing Alice Cooper for his induction into the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame. It is also being reported that Dee Snider will be introducing KISS. Oh, wait. Shannon Sharpe gets into the football HOF, Matthew Perry gets another sitcom, and KISS is still not in the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame?...

It's the ORIGINAL Alice Cooper BAND that are being inducted, not just Alice. These guys get so little credit for what they did. Please acknowledge their MAJOR contribution.
