Why is it that whenever I make an attempt to write a song I HEAR A f***ING SONG LIKE THIS THAT MAKES MY SONG LOOK LIKE A DEGENERATE MONGOLOID HITTING HIS HEAD ON THE FRETBOARD?!?!?!?

It was really good. Psyched for the album.

I do not hear ANY 'core in Protest the Hero's sound whatsoever. Their first self-released EP was treading hardcore waters, but Kezia was a complete shift in sound I believe. Meh. This band has grown on me over the years.

PTH is the band that is solely responsible for getting me into metal. Before that i was listening to the punk (like rise against) so u can understand how PTH is really the perfect transition band.
But then shortly after PTH i was shown Advanced Corpse Tumor, and ya... metal became my obsession hahaha

^^AGREED kpura33! I too am proud of the New Wave of Canadian Progressive Metal! That's what i call it. We got Rush (who really started it all), Aeternam, The Agonist, Alpha Galates, Archons, Beneath The Massacre, Bison B.C., Create The Infinite (that's my project :P), Cryptopsy, Despised Icon, Divinity, Exit Strategy, Into Eternity, Ion Dissonance, Martyr, Neuraxis, Nylithia, Odium, Our Lady Of Bloodshed, The Plasmarifle, Protest The Hero, Starring Janet Leigh, Sympathy, and We The Undersigned. I just went through my playlist and put in every Canadian metal band that was progressive. there's only 5 others i didnt put on that aren't progressive, so u can see the majority ruling.
New Wave of Canadian Progressive Metal.... it has a nice ring to it!

Great list BTBAM. For me, even though they aren't metal, Rush has been a huge influence for me ever since I was introduced to them at a young age by my dad, and I've been into the progressive scene ever since.

^hahaha his voice is always too high, but he does seem to be pushing his voice higher now. w/e's. It's a different way of singing. Remember when the 80's wailing came out? people were saying that was the DEVIL! lmao. Yet that was high singing and people loved it. PTH has just a more modern direction that doesnt involve them being power melal or something lol.
