Alex Webster, the bass player of American death metal favourites Cannibal Corpse has revealed in a recent interview that the band will be entering the studio in September of this year to record their new full length album. An excerpt from the chat reads as follows:
Rocksins: At the moment, you currently have no tour plans for 2011; can we expect something to be announced soon?
Webster: "Most likely not. We have no plans to tour in 2011. We are currently home in the Tampa Bay area writing our next album, we’ll record it in September so that will leave us with an early 2012 release. So, we’ll probably wait to tour until the album is released."

I think their new album will continue on where Evisceration Plague left off - it sold a lot of copies and the band recieved a lot of positive feedback on it, after more than 20 years to get a big reception from an album seems to have an effect on an artist. Probably because it was slower and groovier - personally I hope they give us another brain splatteringly brutal "Kill".

i think a slower heavier more melodic cannibal corpse is where its at...this new direction they've turned with E.P. is the right one for them to really thrive in the current deathmetal community...the song E.P. is ONE of my favorite CC songs ever i f***ing love it....its so f***ing heavy and evil....i hope they keep going in this direction!!!

I hope they pick the intensity up like they did in Kill. EP was good but i still think Kill is corpse's best work.
