Soilwork Frontman Speed Checks In with Studio Update

Soilwork frontman, Björn 'Speed' Strid, has checked in with the following studio blog:
"It has been an intense start on this recording, we grabbed the songs by the balls and we are currently recording rhythm guitars. The sound is absolutely amazing, more ‘meat’ than ever before, we have slightly more distortion but deadly precision. As you have figured, Dirk has already hammered in the drums and I gotta say it’s definitely his best performance ever. Absolutely jaw dropping! I’ve been very focused on finishing the lyrics, really have a lot to tell and channel this time. It’s turned out to be very personal but very relieving to bring out what’s been stuck in my head for two years, which has been probably been the two hardest years in my life. To drop a few song titles: 'The Thrill,' 'Late for the Kill, Early for the Slaughter,' 'The Akuma Afterglow,' 'Let this River Flow,' 'Where Angels Fear to Tread,' '2 Lives Worth of Reckoning'... Ladies and gents, it’s gonna be intense.
"So, as we have posted before, we are recording this beast in Mooresville, North Carolina. It is a big change from the recording of our previous album. Instead of being locked in a basement for five months in our hometown, we now have a huge house with so much space that I’ve practically been lost a couple of times (I’m sure Flink has too).
"Having Peter recording and producing really feels like a family thing. I sometimes forget that we’re actually recording. It’s a bunch of friends renting a house having fun with music. I’ve missed that feeling. No pressure, just pure fun and very stimulating.
"Sven is locked in his bedroom, where he also has his keyboard emporium. He has brought out a lot of interesting arrangements with the keys for sure! Flink is very secretive as always but definitely has a few tricks up his sleeve...This just keeps on getting better. Can’t wait to nail the vocals on this one. Talk to you soon!
Soilwork's new studio album, "The Panic Broadcast," will be released on June 25th through Nuclear Blast Records.
