^^^ amazingly awesome!! i don't like the album title that too much tho. but it's ok. whatever, i love aild, and i rlly hope to see them live someday. if they're a random last min. add on to mayhem, that'll b f***ing epic!! LoG & AiLD along w/ hatebreed and shadows fall \m/

Yeah i was there in philly. LoG tour the house down, but they always bring they're "A Game" to philly and play an extremely long set (hence they're live album, Killadelphia). CoB actually didn't play because Alexi broke his arm, and AILD were not as energetic on stage as they usually are, and they're energy is what i like about them, so i was disappointed. Anyway, about the new album...i hope all the Emo lyrics and breakdowns are gone. In my opinion, AILD write the best stuff out of all the popular Melodic metalcore bands, and actually have a few good Thrash riffs and good Lead work, but then they basically cancel it out with bullsh** "i miss you" lyrics and a million breakdowns per song. If they could just focus on write METAL and not appealing to scene kids, i would be very intrigued.

As I lay Dying do put on a good live show, I remember last time I saw them the crowd just went nuts during "within destruction", thats what I like about them. But they do need to ditch the whiny clean singing, that sh** just sucks. I wouldn't mind them keeping the breakdowns if they actually wrote cool catchy original sounding breakdowns, which nobody really does except unearth.

I, for one, actually rlly like the clean vox that the bassist does (i think), then again, i love melodic metal, it's just soo epic to me lol i don't rlly understand much of the bashing about the whiny so-called "i miss you" lyrics and the whole breakdown ordeal kuz this is aild that we're talking about, not just some emo screamo band. i'll admit they do tend to talk about the lost of a loved one or love in genereal but it's not excessive, as the same for the breakdowns. and as cudos to paul said, their breakdowns r vry diff and pretty original.
cowboy: that sux about them disappointing u bro. i'd feel the same if they weren't energetic if i were to have seen them live too. hopefully that's not the case whenever i see them for the 1st time.
hope the album is great too \m/

I was actually saying their breakdowns aren't that original or different

n0thinghead - i have no problem with clean vocals the bass player does at all, and agree they help the epic-ness of a few of they're songs. Its just the lyrics man. Tim actually screams most of the lyrics I'm talking about, and as a vocalist myself, it just bothers the hell out of me. Your right, though, its not every song. It just needs to be done away with all together in my opinion, cause not even the scene kids listen to them anymore, they have they're suicide silence and bring me the sunset or whatever now. I really think this is AILD's time to drop the scene bullsh** and show they're talent as a legit extreme metal force.

#20, so expressing emotion other than hatred and anger (all the time) is scene? I'm sorry but I would strongly disagree. They're writing music from the heart. If they're not feeling anger and hatred all the time wouldn't they be conforming and selling out by writing nothing but extreme lyrics? Just my $0.02.
Having said that, I wish nothing but the best for these fine gentlemen on their upcoming album!

I saw these guys on the No Fear Energy Tour in Edmonton, and they just kick a$$ opening for Bodom and Lamb of God!!!
I had front row for them too, Tim was screaming right in front of us as Phil and Nick were playing right in front as well. f***ing Amazing show!!!!
If they play Edmonton I'm definitely going!!!!

"expressing emotion other than hatred and anger" - when did i say anything about that, man? Your assuming that's what i mean. It's not. There's billions of things in the world to write about. Bands like Mastodon and Judas Priest make things up to write about. I also feel that i gave the band credit, and i am not bashing them. I never said they should go one definitive way or another with they're lyrics, just cut the stuff that appeals to 16 year old emo kids out. "Extreme lyrics"? I never even combined those 2 words. AILD already are an extreme metal band, but always relied heavily on the "scene" for support. I'm just saying they don't need the "scene" because they're talented enough.

Show me one lyric on the new album that appeals to 16 year old emo kids. I looked through the entire albums lyrics and couldn't find one. I didn't see anything about broken hearts, wanting to kill themselves, or anything of that nature. I would be tickled pink if you would please show me those "scene" lyrics. I hardly even recall any of those types of lyrics on the older material. And even if they did/do, that's what they feel they want to express and/or get off their chests. If that's what they're feeling passionate about expressing then they should express it, no?

i agree with both cowboy and esoteric. it does suck that aild is appealing to that "scene" of which cowboy speaks of but at least they're not just doing it solely to appeal to that "scene". they're merely just, as esoteric said, "getting it off their chest", it's just that it so happens to appeal to that "scene". but idgaf and i listen to them and i love them. and if stupid c*** a$$ elitist wanna b their-retardedid-selves and miss out on some rlly good music by some great musicians then let it b. let them continue listening to their senseless and just uniformed death metal and/or black metal.

I know there s tons of AILD bashers out there, but they put on a great live show...looking forward to the lp, and to which tour they re rumored to be on..either a last min add on to mayhem, or part of the possible ozzfest 2010 tour
