Down Frontman Phil Anselmo Comments On Upcoming Superbowl
Phil Anselmo, the lead vocalist of heavy metal supergroup Down and former frontman of Pantera and Superjoint Ritual, has posted a message online expressing his delight that the New Orleans Saints will be playing at the Superbowl for the first time. Down has also made their song, "On March The Saints" available as a free download from their official website. Anselmo's message reads as follows:
"Unbelievable! We shocked the world! Congrats to our New Orleans Saints, the coaches, the staff, the general manager and the owners!!! Even before this season started, just looking at the roster, I had an insane feeling this year could be THE year! Everyone knows how powerful our offense is, but the defensive side of the ball is underrated!!! Look at the post-season stats!!!
"This has been, and will continue to be a season of destiny... there's just too many parallels to count here, but it all adds up: we have arrived! The Mighty NO Saints have cut the heads off two legends (Warner and Farve), now it's time to decapitate the third; one of our own hometown kids, Payton Manning. BRING IT BROTHER!!!!! WE'RE GOING TO THE F-ING SUPER BOWL!!!!!!!!!!!
"As for perfection in parallels, I can't think of any other words more suitable than...
"ON MARCH THE SAINTS!!!!!!!!"

U havent shocked the world yet phil, you still gotta win the damn thing first, and if it werent for 5 vikings mistakes, your team would have been on the golf coarse by now...best qb to ever play the game is peyton manning, not a colts fan, but thats just commnon knowledge

No mention of Drew Brees? Hmmm... Yeah, let's give all the credit to the coaches and the front office. Fvck the guys that are actually out there doing their jobs. Nice job Phil. Go back to swallowing donkey cranks and leave the football talk to the real men. Geaux Saints.

not crying just trying to prove a point. i was singled out for saying some real sh** because a guy was being a douche and you stuck your face in my business and it had nothing to do with you. you must be db's little lap dog jumping into a conversation without justification trying to back him up, get over yourself, you are nobody, just another e-dork with no life

BlindGreed- Hey brother, I just read what Phil said and he did thank the players, but either way let's give the people of Louisiana their time to revel in their Saints making it to the Bowl, it certainly has been a long time coming.
I know you aren't a Down fan, but their first CD in 1995 is a picture disc of an aerial shot of the SuperDome. Phil and the boys have always supported their Saints, they are not band wagoners.

GEAUX SAINTS!!!! It's been a long time coming. As much as the city is pulling for the Saints, the majority of the fans are realists. The Colts have a great team and we could loose to them. Wait a second..... that's not going to happen. Y'all might want to come to NOLA to watch the game. When we win... look out. The city went bonkers just winning last week! It's 5 years Post-K and the city could deserve nothing better than a super bowl win! Finally, I'm not sure the Colt's fans have as close of a bond with their team as we do (no offense to Colt's fans). Their winning the last few years kept us distracted from the misery that was and is Post-K. Sorry for the rant! GEAUX SAINTS!! Where ya at BlindGreed1!

I love how nobody is giving the Saints a chance! Well, what happened to the Pats? Anybody? I'm not saying we are going to win by 20 but, I am saying that we can win the game but, if we do, it will be no more than 6 points. ...any given Sunday anything can happen.
Valentine_no_more - Yep the Saints. It only took 43 years!
wilco - with all do respect my man.... I don't see a blow out but, if it is I'll be the first to apologize to you.
GEAUX SAINTS!!! WHO DAT!? (oh darn, the NFL might sue me for saying that)

Reeper what s your problem...we all know its over hyped, commercials after every dead ball, terrible commercials, nauseating 6 hour pregame show...but its the championship game, even if you dont like sports its a reason to hang with your friends and familiy either for quality time or to get drunk....i hate reggie bush, not a colts fan but ill still end up watching it....
34-24 colts...manning can read a defense like no other qb ive seen, you could have 22 guys on defense, and find a way to win.....good luck though New Orleans

Yet again the Saints get blown off the table, and the odds are against them, well that's never happened before!...oh wait that's right. The Saints have been the dream team of the year, they had "no chance" when they played the Pats, they were playing against the odds against the Vikings, with a quarterback who could be my father (no disrespect, just saying). Once again I think it's time for the boys to pull through, make me some money, and give New Orleans the party it f***ing deserves!

Thanks Blindgreed1!!! I knew we could do it. You should have seen the crowd this afternoon welcoming the saints home at the airport!
I need to eat my words "...saying we are going to win by 20 but, I am saying that we can win the game but, if we do, it will be no more than 6 points" it was more than that!
