Stone Sour To Enter The Studio In January To Record Third Album

When speaking recently to Noisecreep, Corey Taylor, the vocalist behind both Slipknot and Stone Sour, revealed that the latter band are expecting to enter the recording studio in January of next year to record their third full length album.

"We've already got ten tunes fully written and another 15 we're kind of working on here and there," he tells Noisecreep. "When I'm not on the road I'm still working, I never stop. And it's really good, everything we're doing is really, really good."

"I can say the material is darker than 'Come Whatever May,' but a lot more melodic, a lot stronger, a lot more mature, and the lyrics that are coming out of me are really good. I'm really excited."

I thought I remembered hearing Cory say that there would only be Slipknot after this last album. I'm not positive but I think he said something like everything would be unified under the Slipknot name. I don't mind Stone sour, I was just wondering.

After Vol.3, they went "on the record" and said that it was going to be their last album, if I remember correctly. Look what happened.

I do like both bands, Slipknot and SS, but I really dislike how everyone's constantly told how each album is going to be the last so they can go out with a bang.

even joey has said numerous times that Slipknot will do a fourth and maybe final record. Clown will be the one to say he's done first. Although, after a numer 1 record they have said they'll keep going for a long time. Maybe like Metallica or any band of that age. I hope not. Even if I like a band, I think 4 records should sum it up. Move on.

When did that happen? He's a good singer but with every album he's ever been on, I pick between 2-6 good songs and the rest is pretty lame. You know who I'm at the feet of? Joe Pesci. Why? Because Joe Pesci looks like a man who can get things done!

Come what ever may was a brutal(terrible) lp...corey on his political soapbox bush bashing was the whole emphasis of the record or atleast all except 2or 3 songs...you wanna do a political song thats fine but not the whole fahqn record, it gets old and tiresome real quick...hope they go back to their debut lp type stuff, that was good
^Oz what happend last saturday mate?
Hope you didnt lose your trousers, money wise on that match, i couldnt believe that score....for me as a fan it always hurts the most when your team is expected to win and they flounder rather not expecting to win and lose as well...none the less the QPR will be back...cheers

LOL oz, joe pesci is the f*ckin man! and i agree, slipknot's last two albums had a few ok tracks but were pretty boring for the most part (my opinion) and i couldn't give two sh*ts about stonesour. i highly doubt he has the world's metalheads at his feet, f*ck that. he's a decent vocalist, but he isn't the best by far

Both bands SLIPKNOT & STONE SOUR that Corey & James are in are solid, heavy & unique and can surely stand on their own. All the best to them & to their bandmates in both of those magnificent bands (which both brought them fame...'especially SLIPKNOT) howbeit one is a little more fiercer then the other/and the other a little more at ease but still fiery none the less. I'm be lookin' out for the new STONE SOUR music works...'I like their last album alot. Peace!
