Slipknot's Shawn "Clown" Crahan To Host Art Gallery In Iowa

On September 24th M. Shawn “Clown” Crahan will host a showing at the Kirkwood Hotel in Des Moines, Iowa from 7:00pm-12:00am. The show, which is free to the public, will feature a wide variety of work by Crahan including a number of acrylic on canvas paintings, framed photography, prints, and some of the Polaroids from his upcoming book, "The Apocalyptic Nightmare Journey."

When asked, Crahan had this to say about the upcoming event, “My first gallery showing is truly the realization of a lifelong dream. Polaroid photography has helped open the doors in my mind about layering, saturation and backgrounds. Then of course there’s painting. I feel as though I’ve waited my whole life to be able to enjoy what I always imagined painting to be. This is now reality. Painting is one of the only artistic expressions that brings me ultimate happiness and freedom. This show is a fun way to have an evening dedicated to the celebration of everyone’s ambitions and love for art, whatever their medium may be. So, artists everywhere come as you are."

I've never seen any of his art, but I think this is cool. People often times see people through a set frame and don't remember the possibilities of the different sides to a person.

He DOES sound really happy about this; this is his time to shine for his individual passion aside from his Music with other people. Hope the event goes well.

But I'm like it says Then I'm like it says ART Gallery in "Iowa" not Night Gallery but close enough! I just could imagine how Mr. Shawn Crahan "Clown" Artworks look likes: unusually incrediable like himself. I'm pleased that his other creative works of painting gives him much joy & fillfullment: his a right in your face Music Artist etc.,. All the best to the "9" incrediable members of SLIPKNOT - they have a very "clever-talented" Clown on their hands! Cheers & have a great Art Gallery show Mr. Crahan/Clown.

RTB: I'm just going to state that the University of Iowa is a leading producer of art, including the first and for decades top writing program in the country. Now, as far as the quality of Shawn's work, his geographic location has no bearing.
