Shadowside Comments On Canceling Iowa Tour Date

Brazil's Shadowside has issued the following announcement about canceling their tour date tonight, September 16th, in Iowa:

"Hello my babies in the dark!

"This isn't the blog I wanted to write, FOR SURE. We played a kick ass show last night in Illinois and were SUPPOSED to go to Ottumwa Iowa. Well that IS NOT GOING TO HAPPEN.

"We've hit some bumps on this tour and it was handled as best as could be...we've had clubs that we were contracted to play, but the venues either CLOSED, LOST THEIR LIQUOR LICENSE, WERE DICKS, ETC...

"Tonight's show in OTTUMWA, IOWA was added to the list of CLOSINGS. Our manager was informed last night at about 10 PM that PLUM CRAZY was CLOSED and were NOT going to honor our contract. We JUST got off stage and got the call, what a fucking downer. This show in Ottumwa was looking like it was going to be huge! We had no less that 100 of our FRIENDS here tell us they would be there via our MySpace messages...now we WILL make it up to you all next year..BELIEVE THAT!

"We are extremely sorry for this inconvenience AGAIN, but there is NOTHING WE CAN DO. It is not us who don't want to play...we do, but with no venue it is impossible. These shows haven't been the usual 'lack of ticket sales' type bullshit, the clubs for the most part have CLOSED. The real bummer is, the shows and venues that have been canceled have been the shows that MOST OF YOU were coming out to. This last minute cancel shit is fucked to ALL of US. SO TONIGHT...DO NOT GO TO PLUM CRAZY in OTTUMWA IOWA. Shadowside and Subtle Fall are going straight to URBANA ILLINOIS for TOMORROW'S SHOW at PO BOYS.

"Believe me, we will have one 'WTF?' blog AFTER we get off this tour. We have met SO MANY GREAT people on this tour, both FANS and PROMOTERS/VENUES, but we have also had our run ins with some serious ASSHOLES...we WILL NOT let these fuckers bum us out! We have several shows left and then its back to Brazil for a huge MUSIC EXPO. We will then take a bit of time to make the show even stronger and will be back on one very LONG tour in February 2010!"
