dimmunile- If your going to post your personal hatred about "Slipknot" on this site I'd suggest you fine-tune your grammar and etiquette before ranting on about how much you think they suck and are "Fags".
This is MU, a site that everyone comes to look at reviews, articles, and news about Metal Bands in the World. No one wants to read your attempt at mocking a band you think sucks d*ck.
If you don't like them....then DO NOT POST YOUR BIAS OPINION ABOUT THEM. Every single day I read idiotic posts about bands ( Who ever they might be ) and how much the person dislikes them.
Grow up and keep your opinion to yourself. This is a site about the Music we Love and no one wants to read the crap people like you post. I think the BAN HAMMER should be reinforced on the site and I bet my fellow metal brothers would agree.
Good Day.

^actually, in some cases, it reflects a desire to see other people move onto better and less mainstream music like oneself, although admittedly, few express this desire very eloquently.
I'm all for bashing a band, especially, as in the case of slipknot, when that band puts a bad image on the music you love, while selling a cheapened version of it in the first place.
Showing hatred for other bands is just as important as showing love for your favorites. If noone really gives a crap if you dont like a band, then technically, the same could be said of who gives a crap if you DO like a band.
Opinions are opinions. Dont tell someone they arent allowed to express it, it's called freedom of speech, or whatever other moniker you want it to go by. what you CAN do, is argue their point. If you dont think slipknot sucks, then express why. then prepare for rebuttal. Express yourself intelligently, and maybe the argument might go somewhere beyond "go eat a d***".

f***_A_Name put it perfectly. This is what is wrong with people today. They can't take negative criticism and when they do hear it, they get butt hurt and have to lash out against that person. Slipknot truely does suck many c***s all at the same time. Why should i only have to say positive things on a message board. The world isnt only a place of positive words and happy thoughts. Had this article been about behemoths new cd, or the recent performances of cannibal corpse I would have had nothing but AMAZING things to say. But sadly it was about suckcock, i mean slipknot.
f*** you if you cant take a little criticism and i ruin your day by bashing on this piece of sh** band.
to make a long story short, once again, f*** SLIPKNOT, THOSE FAGS SHOULD HAVE AN UNFORTUNATE ACCIDENT WITH A TOUR BUS.

slipknot is an awesome band. way better than the pop-rock radio wussies like papa roach and hinder. at least slipknot writes songs from the heart, and puts metal to back it up. no corporate songwriters for them!
also keep in mind that nobody really liked slayer for, like, their first 15 years of existance. just becuz a band's not popular doesn't mean they're not good.

It has nothing to do with their popularity. It has EVERYTHING to do with the way they sound. They are played on the radio by the way badmotorfinger. On that note metallica is also played on the radio but almost all of their albums kick ass. Slipknot is full of sellouts whos egos have taken over. They are not metal, they pretend to be metal and fail horribly.

Name a band that hasn't sold out out and i'll name you the same band back that no one else has ever heard of. Every band is in it for the money!!! If you are not then you are retarded. Playing for 3 people cause you principles get in the way won't feed you or buy that really b****en BC Rich Warlock at the pawn shop. Slayer sold out!! Megadeth sold out Metallica sold out Mastadon sold out Sepultra sold out KSE sold out Therion sold out.... get it they all sold out when they signed their name on the contract for the record deal. Stop talking about selling out it is a non argument.
If you don't like a band, pick apart the music or sound but please never ever again mention sellinig out... everyone sell's out for money... It is what rules us all....
I believe 'Lil Wayne said it best ... F*ck b****es get money

^first and foremost, quoting lil'wayne actually makes your argument look bad. That man is the definition of selling out, even when his earlier music had mainstream appeal in the first place. Heard that song where he's playing a guitar with heavy distortion through the whole video? He got lip piercings, and started dressing like a rocker/skater, instead of the hood-nigga he began as, because he's trying to appeal to the "scene" that's in right now. Lil' Wayne is the poster boy right now, right up there with metallica, for selling out.
Now to the actual issue.
Selling out, does not mean that you sell things or market yourself and your music. Selling out, is when the principles you hold, and the integrity and honesty of the music you make, take a backseat to the almighty dollar, or become overshadowed by the desire to win some immature musical popularity contest.
Not every band has sold out. Some have, but most metal acts, are nigh on impossible to call sell-outs. Metal by itself is naturally contrary to mainstream appeal, although there are certain boundaries that can be pushed into mass awareness from the genre, as exemplified by bands like Slipknot and Bullet for My valentine. The underground metal scene however, most notably death, thrash, and prog, is unaccessable to the common person simply by the nature of the music itself.
Truthfully though, I find the "sold-out" argument to be retarded. Metallica's rapid descension into sh**ty alternative rock and country out of classically-influenced thrash metal masterpieces, right at the moment that their popularity and monetary gains began to noticably rise, is obviously the pinnacle of "sold-out" But the kid who yells at his favorite band and calls them sell-outs because they signed with a label to get better distribution and funding for professional recording sessions, now that kid is f***ing stupid.
these are concepts, that in my opinion, every metalhead should instinctively be able to differentiate between. We KNOW when a band has sold out. We KNOW, when the music is still true to heart. Argument and debate may arise on some bands, but overall, it's really shouldnt be that hard to say yea or nay.
And on topic specifically, SLIPKNOT, is definitely a band that has sold it's soul for the almighty dollar. If you cant see it, then you are a blindly loyal follower, and need to take your head out your a$$ and breath the fresh air. Fan or not, it's not something that needs to be so continuously denied in the face of reason. Pay some attention to this band you so dearly love, instead of just swallowing everything they shove down your throats and believeing it to be fine cuisine, when really, it's just mass-produced McDonalds cheeseburgers.

Why must we bring Ronald McDonald into this?! All he wanted to do was fatten up America! You terrorist, you, FAN!
Seriously though, I agree. I think Slipknot's sell-out status is unquestionable. To re-iterate FAN's comment: selling-out isn't a desire to make a living at your art-form. Selling-out is a desire to increase your networth by popping out an album; having complete disregard for what the albums does, means, leads to (other than sales). Selling-out is not caring if you rock your fans' world, but your own because now you can finally buy that vacation home in Alaska you visit once every two or five years (not an actual reference to Slipknot).

I get the slipknot hatred, and i agree they sold out, but ^1 your take on joey being a crap drummer is crap...your hatred for the band has obviously affected your judgement and respect for talent....they re bands i dont like for whatever reasons, but if a band has talent or one of its members do, yet i dont dig the group, ill prop them up and give them respect for that....joey like it or not is one of the best drummers out there right now....he should be in a band that can keep pace with him rather than being in a band that slows him down.....was a huge fan of this band from 99-02, and was waiting for that next iowa type album to come out, but it never happend...selling shoes, their masks, their uniforms, signing up on the fan site to have your own number like the group, and finally that stunning mtv video award show apperance were they presented i think best hip hop video?....ya they sold out big time...but for me joey and mick i got alot of respect for talent wise
^ yo hell...LOL to that..dont necessarily agree with alot of it but it made me laugh, props

Terrible terrible band. this is the kind of band that 13 year old kids listen to and think they are the sh**. These fags have to hide their faces out of embarresment, and I would too. Their music has no talent, Joey is by far not the best drummer in metal.......he would finish first in my sold out, over rated, piece of crap drummer.
If your 5 5 5 then im 6 6 6, we are fags and like big d i c k s
yes, that is slipknot
