Original Blitzkrieg Guitairst, Ian Jones Passes Away

Ian Jones, the original guitarist for New Wave Of British Heavy Metal legends Blitzkrieg, passed away earlier this week after suffering from a long-time illness. A message from the band reads as follows:

"We have just learned of some very sad news on returning from the Bloodstock Open Air festival that original Blitzkrieg guitarist Ian Jones passed away on August 10th after a long illness. Blitzkrieg would like to pass on their condolences to Ian's family at this moment in time. Ian's funeral will be in Leicester on August 19th."

I met Ian and spent a good hour talking about our bands i found him a very likeable bloke .He had some top stories, i thanked him for the song "Blitzkrieg" ,i grew up on metal and he lived it.It is very sad to hear the news i hope he is in a better place .Rest in peace ,Matt.
