Not so fast Mr. Architect. Chad's one of the most amazing drummers ever. His ability to keep up is amazing. He's a true LIVE drummer. Amazing. A f""""""ing machine. I woinder what actually happened there, cos I'm not buying this bit of story. Anybody seen the video clip where Foo Fighters dropped Lotery balls and spaghetti on him? Chad's an iron man.
Speaking of Mr. Rick Allen, he should be an example to all of us whiners complaining how life sucks. He's a drummer who lost an arm mainly due to his ego, being young, rich and naive.
Often your losses make you a better person. This is absolutely the case with Rick.

Weasel, having seen RHCP live twice, he's just a guy who's drumwork has really impressed me. Just flawless playing and that dude can pound 100% till the end. John Bonham he's not, but still one pretty amazing drummer. Yeah.... maybe I went a bit too far with the word "ever"... :)

To the dude who said that joey jordison is better than chad smith. firstly you're comparing apples and oranges. secondly, take jordisons double kicks away and smith will sh** all over him. chad smith has pure rhythm flowing through him, joey jordison is just fast (and not the fastest)

next time you want to compare drummers at least choose 2 who play a similar style..for example, i could tell you that dave lombardo is a f***load better than joey jordison..

Thats your opinion dude, but with all due respect, its the same instrument they play and to say joey without the kicks would get sh!t on by chad or anyone is either an opinion from a slipknot hater or someone who doesnt know the game...dave lombardo...very good drummer, vs joey?......
Just because daves in a band thats been around longer and has more respect from the fans, that doesnt make him a better drummer.....put aside the biases and look at it subjectivly...your gonna say chad is quicker and faster hands wise than joey?..again chads an average drummer, maybe if he was in a better band( rhcp) then its possible he may be even a good drummer...personally i dont see it

Dude Joey is all right. The only reson most kids think joey is a god because the dont listen to any heavier bands. There are plenty of better drummers that are faster than joey.

Chad can carry a good rhythm. Joey can carry a faster rhythm, but they're both just there to carry the rhythm. Thomas Haake forever.

Haake wins the drummer game for all time (Just listen to the song "War" by Meshuggah), but my personal fave is Marco Petruzella(sp?). The man is so fast he has to use an electronic drumset just so you can hear every time he hits the drumset. With a normal drum, the vibration would cancel out the next hit at the speed he plays. Listen to anything by Brain drill or recent efforts by Anomalous, and you'll know what I'm talkin about.

And put George kolias up there somewhere. triple bass niggah. Not double, single, but f***in triple. (yes I know there are others who use it, but he does it the best I think)

Danny Carrey,Tool's drummer had a similar injury. It took some time, but he made a full recovery. Best drummer going? Gavin Harrison of Porcupine Tree gets my vote.

I've listened to Meshuggah's "Bleed" 4 times today so can't argue with FAN. I'm a massive Chili's fan though so I know Chad Smith is the man.
