Darkest Hour Posts New Song, "Devolution Of The Flesh" Online

Darkest Hour has posted a new song online entitled, "Devolution Of The Flesh." You can check it out by heading to the bands official Myspace. The song will appear on the bands forthcoming new studio album, "The Eternal Return."

Guitarist Mike Schleibaum states: “We’re really stoked to release another track from The Eternal Return, ‘Devolution Of The Flesh.’ We plan on playing this new song and ‘No God,’ as well as everyone's favorite DH songs on the Summer Slaughter Tour. We’re really excited to tour the US, as it’s been almost an entire year since our last tour around the country. This whole tour is a celebration of our new record for us, so if you see us BBQing out back, feel free to stop by for the party!”

I'm sorry, Darkest Hour has been doing this before Devil Driver decided it was cool to be metal.

And I don't see the comparisons between the two, DD comes off as heavily influenced by Pantera and Lamb of God where as Darkest Hour draws more from At the Gates.

WOW.

That song sounded rediculously like "Not all who Wander are Lost" The Riff isnt an exact replica, but creepily close, like when Trivium sounds like metallica.

I hear only a small hint of the melodeath influence that's been a staple of this band. both songs on the myspace sound like they listened to devildriver for weeks on end and then went straight into the studio. even the vocalist sounds like he's trying to be Dez Fafera. Outside of the solo's and the slight melodeath I do hear, these could both be songs off the new DD album.

Coincidentally, the new Devildriver song I heard sounds like Disturbed. Disturbed on cocaine mind you, but still, the opening riff was gag-inducing.

Anybody happen to notice their tour schedule?...jesus they re playing every night pretty much, they re gonna be on fumes going into the 11th or 12th show..
Was gonna check out their seattle show but that will be their 25th show in 26 days.
These guys are in their late 20s i believe but i wouldnt get too geeked up to see a band give their best performance after a schedule like that....in 07 during the metalblade anniversary tour, cannibal corpse played i believe 10 or 11 days straight and i caught them at the galaxy theatre in santa ana ca and even though they sounded great they looked exhausted

I'm a fan of both devildriver and darkest hour. While darkest hour have been doing this longer than devildriver I have to admit both of the new songs sound too similar to devildriver. I'm still very much looking forward to the record though. I still have not heard devildrivers new song yet. Maybe they will both do a tour together (fingers crossed)

These guys seem to be able to put on a show every day, esp with a new disc about to be released they have to be pumped.

Suppose I'm not too familiar w/ DD so I guess I'll have to take your words on it. I do think DH has the better vocalist though.

Darkest Hour have been doing this far longer than DD. And have always kind of sounded the same.
