Spinal Tap Reveals "Unwigged & Unplugged" Tour
Spinal Tap, the group created for the movie "This Is Spinal Tap," will be hitting in the road this year, but not in the manner that the public might be expecting. Actors Michael McKean, Christopher Guest and Harry Shearer who played the on-screen rockers will be touring as themselves without the wigs or the costumes, but will be performing the songs acoustically.
"We've never gone out as ourselves," Shearer said Monday during a webcast teleconference at the House of Blues in Los Angeles. "It's interesting; after playing characters all these years, we're having meetings trying to figure out who WE are...We have to ask ourselves, 'What would WE do?'"
