thanx, comments are MOST welcome
Now listening to: Isaz - Necrophobic

Oz, I can say as a person not usually impressed by LOG, my listen through of Wrath has given me a new enjoyment of them. I haven't been able to say I liked any of their albums since Palaces but Wrath is a solid disc.
I still wouldn't say worth all the hype LOG gets sometimes but definitely solid.

Cool, I'll give it a listen no doubt. I doubt I'll fork out the money for it though unless it blows me away. I don't have anything against Lamb Of God and I'd rather see them get hype instead of Bullet For My Valentine or that kind of thing, but I just don't understand the hype lol.
20. writes:
^the hype is that they're just an extremely solid band. Good song after good song. nothing particularly amzing, with a few exceptions here and there, i.e. Hourglass. They're heavy, they're fast, they sound BRooTAL to alot of people i guess, and they're easy for the average heavy metal listener to like.
Soooo many people end up liking them, and their live performance usually takes it home for those fans, that they end up getting paraded around as "greatest band EVER" by their fans. Sort of like how diehard slayer fans do the same thing, when it's arguably not true. I think LoG are just aband that need to be given a decent chance at a listen, but not lauded and drooled over.
Another thing about htis band is, since they change their sound every album, they grab new fans with their sound constantly(metallica anyone?). New american grabbed the underground fans, AS the palaces nabbed thrash and guitar fans, Ashes grabbed hte pantera and politically minded fans, and sacrament grabbed fans of excellent production, no to mention how well the album translated live, much better than on the record. This album is for everybody who liked their earlier material, and then, like focusshift exemplifies, it grabs some people who just might not have cared before.
As long as you dont go into lamb of god expecting to get blown away, they're an excellent band. :p
Now playing: Onslaught- Pain

just got the new album, and its ok except for the fact that there's only ONE guitar solo in the whole album, and this is their first album they've brought in acoustic sections (3 to be exact)...
although, there is the presence of blast beats, that was pretty cool
Now listening to: Set To Fail - Lamb Of God (the one with the solo lol)

I see your're listening to Onslaught, there's a band worth drooling over lol. As I say, I'll have a listen to the album when it comes out. If I can catch them live I will, I thought the same thing about Mastodon until I saw them live and they surprised me with how good they were.
23. writes:
^yeah, i knew that would catch youre attentiont he most as soon as I hit post lol
Picked up THEIR new album too, and i must say, despite being real chorus heavy and predictable in terms of song structure...it's fvcking awesome. Fans of slayer aref gonna drool like babies over this new album, and fans of Onslaught are just gonna sh** themselves. Fans of both are gonna look like seizure victims...
however...BTBAMFAV:
there are more solo's in this album than ANY lamb of god album to date, to the point that it verged on the point of being cliche. I dont know how you missed them, they have them in almost every other song?
Set to Fail you already know,
Fake Messiah- at the 2:30 mark
Grace- at the 2:40 mark
Broken Hands - at the 2:26 mark
Everything to Nothing- at the 2: 32 mark
Choke Sermon- at the 2:15 mark
SOLOS GALORE! They're all fairly short hough, and set heavily in tune with the rhythm section, so if you werent listening, and were just jamming to the album while busy with something, it would be not that hard to miss I guess...? :/
Now playing: Yigael's Wall- Requiem fo the Living (DIamond Oz, if you like Onslaught type thrash, check these^ guys out on myspace, not bad really from what I've heard.)

^ naw, ive been sitting here on my computer listening to this album, it's getting my 100% attention.
as to the solos:
Fake Messiah - the solo consists of 5 overdrawn notes. that's not a LoG solo
Grace - i forgot there was a solo in this one, and its not taht bad either. that sweep was perfect, and in the perfect spot :)
Broken Hands - The shred part at the end was cool, but the solo needed to last more than just 4 bars imo.
Everythign To Nothing - Good solo, another i forgot that was there... :S where did i get the idea that there was only one????
Choke Sermon - ok, this one was f***ing sick! f*** im fool... :(
i stand 110% corrected... i must have been looking on some website or something when they were playing... f*** lol
thanks f***_A_Name, i greatly appreciate it
Now listening to: Slaughter Of Baby Jesus - Necrophobic

I have givin this album a couple spins and i agree with pretty much all of the posts in this thread. This album is just another album nothing to be blown away by of course. But its consistant in the fact that it's another lamb of god cd and it draws influences from most of their previous releases. I personally cannot wait to see this album live. Sacrament might not have been the greatest cd but live it was pretty damn good!

29. writes:
No worries neccesary Netro. i personally believe that if a you like LoG, and don't like Hourglass, then you're retarted.
As song is just as solid as the rest of the tracks on the album, but with no chorus or repetitions whatsoever, making it their most technically impressive song, and the best, most poetic lyrics of the entire album.
Go ahead and enjoy Hourglass; you have every reason to.

metal fan- FYE stand for "For Your Entertainment". It's a fairly big music store. Most malls have one.
"il just bring a razorblade and steal all the contest cards ... "
and then you win, and when Mark wants to sign your album for you when he gives you the guitar...imagine the hilarity when he finds out you cheated....lol
Now Playing: Strapping young Lad- Force Fed
