Additional Bands Confirmed For Summer Breeze Open Air Festival 2009

Three more bands have been confirmed for the 2009 Summer Breeze Open Air Festival, which will take place in Germany. The new additions are Elvenking, God Dethroned, and Unearth. A listing of the other bands previously confirmed can be viewed below.

If you are looking for bands you might hear on the radio, sorry, wrong article. Many of these bands are big name metal acts who don't rely on radio or MTV. So you might not have heard of them. There's a bit more to metal than Stone Sour. I suggest giving some of these bands a listen on Myspace, Pandora Radio, or Rhapsody if you are subscribed. You might surprise yourself with some great new music while expanding your horizons beyond what the media spoonfeeds you.

While there are only a few albums coming out this year that I'm excited about, as opposed to last year which had tons of great releases, it looks like this is shaping up to be the year of awesome festivals. Too bad most of 'em are outside the U.S.
