Hell ya, dude! Mastodon is one of the bright spots for this new year. They are all practically, genius musicians. The lyrics are deep, well-thought out, the drumming is spectacular, they make heavy goove-type progressive music, play incredibly technical, yet, catchy riffs, have a style that is clearly their own, and just keep putting out great music. They don't care if they make millions of dollars, write real, creative music, and are great, down-to-earth people. I own all of their albums, and they are all GREAT, in my opinion. This review guy - well - what does he know?

I can't agree with any of you more. They are just plain amazing. Anything Mastodon puts out will be an instant classic with me. Some of my favorite songs come from this band, like Blood and Thunder, or Hunters of the Sky. This band is probably my favorite right now.

Is it just me? Or does Mastodon go for the System of a Down approach a bit? Aside from those 2 bands I have never in my life heard of a band having more unreleased LPs and tracks that are leaked onto the net. Not a bad thing but it just seems to be becoming a more common thing. Then again all music should be free and record companies should get less profit from bands.

This guy obviously needs to work on his reviews i felt that he rambled more than reviewing. Some things he said made point of interest just take what he says and compare to a mastodon scale and it sounds like it might be a nice hefty satisfying relaxing and artful experience. I can not wait i have been waiting for a new mastodon. Crack the Skye will be thr sh**!

I don't trust anything this dude says. He said Leviathan was a death metal record, he compared Mastodon to SOAD constantly and said that since there's screaming and singing they are emo. So, he fails. Totally jacked for this cd though. I'm sure it will be good.
