Avenged Sevenfold and Buckcherry Announce Second Leg of Tour In 2009

Band Photo: Avenged Sevenfold (?)
Buckcherry and Avenged Sevenfold have extended their tour by announcing a second leg, which will start January 28 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Joining them on the bill will be Papa Roach and Saving Abel.
The four-band bill is priced to sell, with tickets less than $40. "The idea was to take four acts that could tour alone and put them together for $40 or less to be able to let people hear three-and-a-half hours of music and experience some up-and-coming acts," says Allen Kovac, CEO of 10th Street Entertainment, which manages Buckcherry and Papa Roach.
Tickets go on sale December 15.

And maybe just MAYBE that creepy bastard who delivers toys will put the lifeless bodies of the A7X members under my tree :)

godlike: Lol. I had an idea, but then again, who doesn't love that song? I don't know anybody that gets into Sabbath that doesn't rate that one up there among the best. It's a mandatory listen if you have Paranoid in the deck.
Kali: you are such a sweetheart. I think Dime is saying the same thing right about now and i'll just bet you that Phil can feel it running down his back.

33. writes:
You can't blame Phil for what happened to Dime. It's not right. Phil shows no hostility towards anything, why must people constantly be hostile towards him? Yea, it sucks it took a death to do it to him, but sh** happens.
It seems as if hating Phil is the popular thing to do in the metal world..
my advice:
Chill out, smoke some reef, and listen to DOWN. (just not today)

Gig tonite was f***in epic. Children of bodom's set was short and nothing special. Machine Head were really workin the crowd, although Rob is a bit stuck on circle pits. Wall of Death would have been better by far. Aesthetics of Hate was played with real passion due to the date and all. Got Old out as well and everything was sweet.
Slipknot were, and i was very surprised at this, brilliant. They played mostly old stuff - only psychosocial and dead memories from the new album, and kicked ass. Came out on stage wearin kilts, i thought twas a nice touch for scotland. And the drum sets Shawn made for them, ridiculous stuff. F^ckin revolving scissorift is class, and joey's lifted and tipped perpendicular to the stage. Lots of pyrotechnics and a few lights but nothing over the top.
Only complaint is the crowd. Most of them were really up for it, but a large amount of them were just little f^cks who obviously only heard AHIG singles and never listened to the older stuff. Fags.
Same problem at apocalyptica 2 nites ago. They were on top form, but the crowd was poor, no real effort in them.

Good Morning everyone!
Shredder- Hell yeah, I like all three of those bands, especially Destruction. The tour you mentioned is going to be coming to a little 300 person club about 15-20 minutes from my house. I haven't been to any shows since Metal Masters last summer, so I told myself I need to go see a couple bands. I got Lamb of God a week from today, Pennywise next month, and Cradle of Filth/Satyricon in February. The real show I am looking forward to though is Motorhead with Social Distortion, but they haven't released the tour dates for that one yet.
Godlike- I thought about you last night when at about eleven I went outside and burned one. I was wearing sandals, LOL! This California weather ain't perfect though, on the way to work this morning the Santa Ana winds were blowing about 25 mph. How much snow you guys get so far this month? We have only gotten 2 inches of rain. Droughts suck!
Kali/Jenny- How the lovely MU ladies doing today?
Blindgreed- What's up brother how ya been?
Speaking of Amsterdam, you guys here that they are trying to "clean up" the city and are closing half the sex and hemp shops? I shed a tear when I read that because I have yet to have visited and I have heard many stores from friends about how bad-ass it was.

SHREDDER!!! Where the hell are the deicide and vital remains tour dates? Do they have Florida listed yet? If I f***in missed that, I will never forgive myself. I made and wore a t-shirt with the words "Fvck Your God" to my last 3 concerts, so you can understand how important that is to me...
I'm gonna see Warbringer, Kreator, Exodus and Belphegor in May, and before that, it's the Krisiun Mantic Ritual and Destruction tour on April 2nd, but until then nothing comes anywhere near me.I've been so deprived of concert near me lately, I almost convinced myslef to go to a Avenged Sevenfags concert a week ago, because it had skindred with them, and i NEEDED a concert/mosh pit badly, (still do), but I just couldnt bring myself to give that band any of my money!
and yes, Hail the night is excellent imo. although I'm not sure someone as heavily into thrash as shredder would like them as much as a heavy Watian or Dimmu Borgir fan for instance lol

I live in OC. Right now the highs are in the early to mid seventies but over the weekend the highs may drop down into the sixties.

Oh yeah, i added hail to my friends months ago. I generally don't have the time to talk to any of the bands though, especially since I have over 2 hundred bands on my myspace friends. I can't say that I've had a convo with more than a few bands other than local bands, because they always realize who i am and ask me to come to their next concert with all my friends i brought last time, because we always tear the place apart, all 15 of us. We end up being like half the mosh pit everytime, so the bands come down and talks to us all the time. They always invite us for drinks, but none of us are older than 20 lol

Blindgreed- Derek Riggs is a very talented artist, for sure. If you happen to work something out with your guy JayJay let me know. He is very talented, yes?
Kali- It seems you have a whole surplus of ideas to get out of Christmas parties, haha! Last year I just didn't show up and went to a concert instead (I think it was Lamb of God). Anyway, the marketing girl got all butt hurt so I really needed a good excuse to get out of this years, which I failed to come up. I wish I would have asked your advice in this matter two weeks ago, LOL.
What also sucks is that a friend called me up and wanted to go snowboarding tomorrow because it is his birthday. Afterwards he is having a kegger at his house. I had to turn down both invitations because of the stupid holiday party.

I actually read all those posts too, since the last time I was on here (f*** all of you and your 200+ comment conversations) And I have two things to say:
Yes, TOG, Gojira is the sh**. I saw them with LoG, Machine Head and Trivium, and to this day, they have the best live drummer I've ever heard. Then again, I have yet to see Dimmu or Meshuggah lol And I bought their latest cd, I just knew it was gonna be worth it, and I was right.
And also, if I ever get a band actually up and running, I've decided to hire Kali as our band-promoter. Ive heard the name "hail the night" so many times in the past week or so on myspace and MU, I've forgotten the names of like ten other bands I listen to!

Ive spent a number of years working in Wisconsin over my lifetime, and I must say that a good portion of that states population are such rednecks that I would honestly believe they were refugees from south of the Mason Dixon line.... Seriously, I have never seen employers let people take an entire week off from work to deer hunt... whether they have vacation time or not.... if you hunt deer, you get that week off from work..... and these businesses employ hundreds of people... Its ridiculous.... I was just one of a number of Iowans that crossed the border to go to work... and we(Iowans) still had to work those weeks.... and no, we didnt get the week of Iowas deer season off work unexcused.... only the cheeseheads from Wisconsin...
I think its a requirement as a resident of Wisconsin to be a deer hunter and a fan of demolition derby's and own a 4 wheel drive truck ( with a gunrack in the back window)

Then there is Jake, my golden retreiver/blood hound mix. He's something else. We saved both dogs from certain death and both are great dogs. The third is The Gothic Queen's little rat Chongo. He's a chihuahua mix that attached himself to her (just showed up on our doorstep and wouldn't leave) about two years ago. BlindGreed- No, what I do is make a mental note that the bar/club plays that sh**. A major qualification for me to return to a bar is that it must have rock/metal in the background. Otherwise, I will take my business elsewhere.

I've always HATED the Police.... so reading that caused me to throw up alot.... almost too much to chew back and swallow..!!
Jenny - youve never heard Blue Cheer....?? That is or was one of the heavier bands from that time period ( late 60s early 70s) Check out some vids on Youtube...
There cover of Summertime Blues is GREAT.. waaaay better than the original..!!
Kali - have a drink for me tonight.... that means only one ;-)

I can even give a couple examples... Bone Pony ( excellent band but nowhere metal)
some blues like Robert Johnson, Muddy Waters etc... and alot of SRV, Ian Moore, Fabulous T-Birds...
The entire Black Crowes collection is also in there..!!

godlike: Too much to chew back and swallow made me laugh out loud so hard that my boss asked me what I was laughing at. I told her she wouldn't understand... It's a metal thing.lol. I can't stand them (The Police) either, but I must admit they are a talented bunch in Bruno's defence. I think we hate it so much because it was shoved down our throats (it was all they played on the damned radio) in the 80s. I think the weakest material I have in my collection is my old rock (Boston, Bad Co., Steve Miller, etc) and classical stuff, but I firmly believe that classical (selected composers) was the first form of metal. Motzart, DeBussy, and Berlioz were definately metal and maybe even some Beetoven.
NP: Hallowed Point - Slayer.

BlindGreed- I was going to defend my love of the Police with just that fact- I got into them in 2002 or so (I probably would have hated them had I grown up in the eighties, too) but I figured it was pointless. I accept only I like them. I will add that even went to the reunion show at Dodger Stadium. and thank god I am not the only one who can't stand Job For a Brokeback Mountain Cowboy. After work, I am going to get an eighth of Kush, go to the bar for an hour or two and have some beers and nachos, then go to the venue to tailgate for an hour or two.

Read all my posts in the actual Job for a cowboy thread Bruno, and you will pretty much see my vast impatience with this band. I tried to be civil, saying their guitarist was decent, but I eventually showed my true colors lol
and after reading godlike's last post, it got me thinkin...What the FVCK are MY kids gonna be listening to if one day Dillinger Escape Plan is going to be considered "classic metal" ? Jesus Christ, I can see the genre's now : Death Skaa and Viking Rap are in the works even as we speak.

Godlike thats awesome you are building a guitar. I work carpentry and construction (when I do work, grumble, grumble) and thats a project Ive been wanting to try for some time now. Why did you choose maple? Just asking because Im not all that keen on how wood affects the finished fretboard. Ive always stuck with rosewood fretboards out of personal preference when buying a guitar or bass because some of the best (to me, not all hands are the same when playing) Gibsons Ive played or owned had rosewood.

I've never tried an unfinished rosewood though because I just fell in love with the feel and resonance of the unfinished maple. You can feel every note resonate the entire fretboard. It was love at firt touch.

First of all .....
It depends if your using "Internet Explorer" or "Firefox"....as your internet browser..( The place you click on to get on the internet..??)
For Firefox users , Use the section at top of the page that says "Tools" click on the option that says "clear private data" .... mark the box for "cookies" and then click on "Clear private data now"
For Internet Explorer - Click on the section marked "Tools" then go to "internet options"
when the window opens you will see a section that says "Browsing history"... click on Delete..!!
After doing this, it wipes out all the places where you have entered a password or login....
So, sites like MU, email addresses, and Myspace etc.... you will have to log in again..!!
But it basically cleans out all unused data, and will even speed up the computer a bit..!! It also erases all the history... so no one can see that youve been looking at porn;-)

That post that I answered you, still has never been posted... but Im glad you got to see my post to Bg1...in the Biohazard thread..!!
I actually dont own anything with a maple fretboard... so its partial curiousity and then as I said the maple fretboard will set off the colors on my project body..!!
In all honesty, I like the feel of an Ebony fretboard... they are so fast and slick... I understand now, why Zakk Wylde uses them on his Gibsons... pinch harmonics are so easy and come out so clear..!!
556. writes:
I'll have to check that out, man. Both my guitars are rosewood fretboards with Mahogany bodies. The ones I still own anyway. Still have a grey Gibson Victory Standard bass. They were only made from 81'-85' so I was almost in tears when I thought it was gone. Very heavy body, steel reinforced neck, thing is a monster. Picked up a black V Series Ibanez Dreadnaught. One of the best playing acoustics Ive ever owned. Rosewood fretboard as well, with a mahogony body. I swear by Gibson/Epiphone, very well made and playable guitars, but wont break your bank. I hear ya about Zakk's Gibsons. Would love to get my hands on a Epiphone Les Paul Goldtop like Slash plays, but will probably save up for the Explorer design or the Iommi signature Ebony.
Lost 2 Epiphones, 1 LP Junior, 1 LP Special, both Black with Orange Sunburst. (My favorite design, similar to what Chris Cornell played on the Superunknown tour) Also a maroon Takamini Dreadnaught and a little beat up no-name Acoustic. Think it was Applause or something similar. For a cheap guitar (under 200 bucks) that LP Special could f***ing shred, man.
558. writes:
Oh yeah....I agree with the Gibson/Epiphone statement.....!!
I only own the one Gibson Les Paul... Its one of the Faded Specials that they quit making a couple years back... I stripped and refinished it and added some Grovers and chrome knobs... ( it can be seen at Myspace.... which can be found through my profile.)
When I stripped the finish, I also sanded down the forearm area to provide a little extra comfort... (that flattop is kinda uncomfortable on the forearm..) I also, cut into the belly area, to give it more of a strat type feel... slimmed down the neck a little too..!!
Oddly enough, Ive been looking into buying an Explorer too... Im thinking that Im gonna just buy an Epi to save money, and then just upgrade the tuners and pickups with some Duncans or EMGs....??
My Kramer Nightswan has EMGs, and they are certainly great pickups... but so damn spendy..!!
Now, as for cheap but good guitars... I own a RavenWest, that was bought off of Ebay... its a Maple/Walnut neckthru with a Walnut top...( pictured on myspace too)
For a new guitar under $500... it is amazing... Very well made... and great factory pickups too..!!
Your old Gibson bass is definately something to hang on to... Im pretty well educated on those older Gibsons and yes, they werent made for very long... and gonna be worth a mint someday..!!
There are a few old Gibsons that I want to add to my collection... A MarkIII with the reverse headstock and maple fretboard would be great.... and so would one of the 80s U2s... ( ever seen one of those.?) Designed by Wayne Charvel when he worked for Gibson... It was there version of the "super strat"... only made in 87-88... until they were sued and had to stop making em..!!

It's funny you mention the flat-top design. Always wanted a Rickenbacker Classic till I played one. It honestly played and sounded like gold, but the flat-top design was too much for the forearm. Had to wear the big early-Metallica-style sweatbands if I did any shows. Literally was just too painful at the end of the night. I can understand using it with a more laid back Geddy Lee style of playing, but I was using a pick and playing hardcore punk. I'd still buy one if I had the extra cash though. Great bass.
