The name Abacab is from a 1981 release by Genesis. They used to label sections of their songs with letters of the alphabet. The layout of the song originally spelled out the word, but had been changed during the creative process. The name, however, stuck and the lyrics were built around it.
As for ABACABB I can only assume its the song name with another "B" added at the end. And I would assume its meant to be pronounced in full. Why the hell they chose this as the name of their band is beyond me. Doesnt seem to fit the musical style. Though I did like what I heard.

"ABACABB" stands for the buttons that complete the cheat code (A,B,A,C,A,B,B) that added the gore back into the old Mortal Kombat Sega-Genesis game, for those of you who don't already know. I didn't know for quite some time. They are by far the best band out there based on stage presence. Can't wait for their new CD "Survivalist," then they will be up there with Whitechapel and Carnifex. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GaEJNyr_lEQ

Are you supposed to pronounce this like a word or actually say each letter? Because if it's the latter it could stop me from telling my my friends about them right there. I can't spend ten minutes saying these guys' name three times in a conversation!
