Northern Irish Christians Protest Gorgoroth Show

Band Photo: Gorgoroth (?)
A group of Free Presbyterians recently protested at a Gorgoroth show in Belfast, Northern Ireland. You can check out a video of the incident below. The group was led by Reverend David McIlveen who stated: "This reprehensible group's influence on the young may push them to evil acts and lead to the fragmentation of family life.
"Organizers need to rethink their decision to give them concert time in Belfast as the majority of people in Northern Ireland will be highly offended by their apparent anti-God message.
"Anything that is detrimental to the Christian belief must be challenged and I will be doing that."
However, publicist for Limelight Ian Wilson says: "We book bands with absolutely no concern about their religious or political viewpoints. It's just music."

The problem with this statement is that Gorgoroth believes that true fans should embrace the messege and the lyrics. As for me, I like Gorgoroth and I just care about the music, so I don't care about lyrics.
Something like this should be pleasing to the band cuz it's essentialy one definition of purpose that surrounds Black Metal: contreversy. :)
Yay for Gorgoroth!

Ah but that was just the booking agent jenny. They book the music for the true fans but show no bias towards the bands personal beliefs which is a good thing.
Also branded if you check this head to the mushroomhead thread if you wish. JSP is stirrin up sh**, the wanker.

What kinda got me about the promoters statement was that they book anyone regardless of religious or POLITICAL viewpoints. "We like to think we're a fair company in that respect. Be sure to come back next week, we've got a Skrewdriver tribute band on!"
P.S. I'm not accusing Limelight of being Nazis, just that that comment could be misinterpreted.

This is one of those instances where protesting is actually counter productive. No one who previously listened to Gorgoroth saw these protesters and then went "Oh my God! These guys are anti-Christian? I'm not buying music from them anymore!" This was basically just free publicity for the band and it likely allowed people to discover them who wouldn't have normally.

yo irish, i went over and posted back, but it was a 5 mile long post disecting things he posted and answeres to those posts. it was flagged, and im waiting to see if it gets posted. he personally attacks others for their posts then acts like a victim when they attack back...

He sounds just like a communist. I personally have no problem with anybody believing whatever bedtime story they want, but when you start to sound like a dirty commie....grrrrr.....
I don't even personally like Gorgoroth that much, just not my bag, but cheers to them for bringing out these kind of cokroaches, so that their kids can stay home alone and throw drunken parties since mom and dad dont pay enough attention to the facade their kids put up. I bet one of these protesters has a kid that listens to Gorgoroth, and they dont even know it. One can only dream for something that funny...
